This app is one of the greatest in the Android history, and it's development is perfect for the mere purpose of presenting a smooth, reliable experience for the dialer UI. However, I wish that the devs would eliminate the implementation of Call Recording thing because this would require a separate app of it's own and it's nearly like opening a gate of Hell.

as can be seen from a few previous posts, call recording has been implemented by the dev - without too much of an effort, if i understand correctly. there are people who require call recording, which is why it has been implemented in the first place - as an option. people who really don't want call recording can refrain from enabling the option. the dev is on the verge of implementing built-in view/playback for recordings. call/contact blocking would probably come soon too. if something does not work or goes wrong, 'true phone settings » debug » report a bug' or email the dev with info+screenshots+logs. he'll surely help.

I think a lot of the excuses used by call recorder app developers for their apps being unable to work properly are just that - excuses.

Although I have Truephone I also purchased Skvalex because no one could offer me a solution to the problem that Truephone is unable to record the caller on my phone even though it is rooted.

Skvalex call recorder has no problems. It records both sides of the conversation clearly and also stores files with either the phone number or the contact name and phone number if a contact calls me or I call them.
Thanks very much!

I'm assuming Skvalex requires root, yes?

just wanna inform: call recording works fine (both sides) for me with the magisk module.
Hey, I've been out of the rooting phone past few years, so I have lost my understanding of a lot of core tools. I'll search here but could you please just confirm for me that magisk module requires root? thank you

if you have working custom recovery, try the following:
-make a full nandroid backup
-flash true phone (stub) magisk module
-reboot to system
-install true phone app
-enable recording and check.

Feature suggestion:

We are living in world where different contacts prefer different communication apps and a modern dialer should support this state of reality. In most contact apps including True Phone dialer it is behind too many clicks to use something else for voice call and messaging than phone call or SMS message.
I suggest the following changes to make it easier to communicate with contacts through their preferred methods.

- each contact should have 3 new parameters: 1. default messaging app, 2. default voice call app, 3. default video call app

- in Settings - Quick Actions there should be following options: Make voice call, Make phone call (ex. Place Call), Send message, Send SMS text message (ex. Send text message), Make video call.

- Make voice call, Send message, Make video call would open corresponding default app that is saved in the new 3 contact parameters. If the parameters are not set then voice call = phone call, message = SMS text message. Make video call would bring error message "default video call app has not been set".

- there should be option to add "Make video call" to Settings - Behavior - Context menu items.

With these changes the following would be possible. When I left swipe for CONTACT1 then Signal Messenger messages for CONTACT1 are opened. When I left swipe for CONTACT2 then Telegram messages for CONTACT2 are opened. When I left swipe for CONTACT3 then Whatsapp messages for CONTACT3 are opened. When I left swipe for CONTACT4 then SMS messages for CONTACT4 are opened.

When I right swipe for CONTACT1 then a Signal Messenger voice call to CONTACT1 is initiated. When I right swipe for CONTACT4 an ordinary phone call is initiated. When I long press CONTACT2 and choose "Make video call" from context menu then Telegram video call would be initiated for CONTACT2.

Best Regards, Golan

Como conseguir que grabe las llamadas a un audio que no haga falta un sonotone para entenderlo, graba a tan poca voz las llamadas que es casi es ridículo usarla para esas cosas.

Also please add incoming or outgoing indication on on-going call screen.
Is reordering of context menu items possible. Please also add this feature

Love the app, but just need a little tweak for me.
Is there's a way to have large list items with small pictures, cuz the the list item pictures margin is so small that it feels so condensed.

Long time True Phone user here. Odd problem on new Pixel 4A5G, not sure what to do. On True Phone 2.0.15 Rev 115 installed

I'm unable to access carrier based video calling ie, the camera button on the call screen when calling or in call. Also, when I receive calls half the time, the phone screen doesn't come forward, so I have no idea that the phone call is coming in besides hearing the phone vibrate.

I have no idea if this is a conflict with True Phone and the Google Phone app. Also, no way to test it.

Any ideas?

I can confirm this to be a bug with True Phone 2.0.15 Rev 115 I'm on Android RQ1D.201205.012A1 on Pixel 4A5G

If you install True Phone, it somehow prevents the use of Video Calling from the dialer. First time this has happened to me, as I've used True Phone for many years on nearly all my phones.

Not sure if its unique to the specific Android/Google Phone build on the 4A5G, but I removed True Phone, rebooted, and now I have video calling from the stock dialer.

Will experiment some more. I really want to use True Phone.... can't stand the stock dialer
