On Huawei p40 TruPhone is unable to read which SIM card was used and always display SIM1.
I can use both SIM but in history I see only SIM1

Root is required if you want record directly from line. Every call-recording app neeed root, not only this. It's android restriction. So root it's mandatory.

I see you've edited your post, so...

For True Phone to be made a system app, the device has to be rooted; I know of no other way, ATM.

In one of the screenshots in my earlier post, the folder 'HbDialer' is seen to reside in /system/priv-app. Screenshot added here also for quick perusal.
