Hi @fvalpha: I opened FV and under 'Videos' I selected a file and then tapped on the delete icon and got this message:

"Delete operation failed: Permission denied, please enable root explorer in Settings"

Can you please advise why am I unable to delete some files? I do not have a rooted device. Checking the property of those files, I see that they are having the following path:
/storage/emulated/999/WhatsApp/Media/WhatsApp Animated Gifs

Is there any setting in FV that I need to check / sysem settings? Please advise

Some folders are designed by their own to be self-managed, so they require special permissions. You cannot access them with read/write permission. In this case, the above error message will popup.

It happens when there's no picture generated just text (yellow border for selection). See animated gif attached - I've not been allowed to attach this as a video.

Update: Strange - today I could not reproduce the issue.

Update 2: It happened with a red border (both text and picture captured) as well.
I haven't recur the issue. I will keep track on it.

I am a relatively new user of fooView. FYI I found it in the playstore, and only just now found this thread.

I have searched this thread, but I could not find the answer; the search pulled up hundreds of unrelated posts. Obviously a bad search term on my part.

I am trying to do 2 things that I have yet to work out how to do.
1. Run a user defined shell script from the fly-out menu. I have seen the "Customized Task" feature, and am guessing thats the path to go down, but I can't determine how to create and/or edit a new or existing task?
2. Under actions (when assigning an icon/action), I can not find the "Display Menu" action. Am I blind? it could also be implemented with a simple send input "KEYCODE_MENU [82] = (0x00000052)" shell command

Hello.
This is a bug report.

It seems that the suggestion function of the app switcher is not working properly.
There seems to be a mistake in the counting part of the usage frequency of the application.
Please check it once.

Thank you as always!

Could I remove or change predefined search engines which is located in "Search by" page (such as yandex naver duck-duckgo...).

A lot of thanks for your awesome Apps.

Hi @fvalpha

I was going through some of my past suggestions and observed many that are still not implemented. I wanted to group them and check with you if you are able to implement them?

Bug: unable to setup bubble circles if enabled "show in top level" because selection menu for bubble is shown under float icons.

Thanks. Fixed in 1.4.5.
A minor version of this bug (selecting apps to pin in the App Switcher) occurred today- although there is a quick workaround (below) to get it working again.

Background: It was working fine today, until I changed fooView's backup and save locations in the Settings (to my sd card), then decided I wanted to change the pinned apps again. I restarted my phone several times, but wasn't able to change the pins until I found this post, haha.

Workaround: I had to disable "Show On The Top Level" to pin the apps I wanted. Now, after re-enabling it, I am still able to modify pinned apps without having to toggle it back off.

It might be great to have language preference. I don't like how it looks translated. Yeah, I can correct translation but I like other language as more compact.

Ouch, I was confused about "enable gesture to show/hide the bubble". It absolutely unable to understand this pref. Rename it to "tap and hold the bubble then swipe outside a nearest edge of screen". At this moment this pref doesn't provide understandable description. It says just swipe. What's the way to swipe? Incomprehensibly.

It also doesn't hide the line mode. It just switching between bubble and line. Could you made it work as "bubble — invisible" and "line — invisible".

"Bubble — line" have no sense for me. Or provide more options for this pref. Thanks. 😘

Hello. Thank you very much for such a good application. It's a pity not all the functions, but I would like instructions on individual tasks and the execution of java scripts. I wanted to run this script https://www.cwestblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/Excel_-_XLS_To_CSV_Converter.js for converting xls to csv, I'm not sure if fooview can do it, but hope is still alive ... I would be glad if you tell me how to use this functionality ...

That script wouldnt run on android, as its using Windows ActiveX.
JavaScript:
 var xlApp = new ActiveXObject("Excel.Application");
Just reading that line of code, it would be starting an instance of desktop windows Excel (also no on Android), and getting it to do actual work.

It is clear, it is a pity of course, but I thought that there is under Windows ... Thanks for the answer ... And do not tell me at all where to find the documentation for java scripts in fooview?

I am guessing English is not your first language, and what you really wanted to know is where / how to do javascript in fooView.

I do not use JavaScript in fooview. You may be best to contact the dev directly using the playstore.

I do a lot of automation (I am also rooted) using scripts in android, however, I use shell scripts and not Javascript. Shell scripts (basically a simplified bash) are native to Android while Javascript is not. All my shell scripts are either boot scripts or triggered by my launcher. I use a VERY complex and customizable launcher called Lightning Launcher Extreme; which also has extended javascript, but I use simple javascript to launch a shell script, and its a paid app.
