Hi. Browser is great but is any option to block autplay videos on sites?

Hi! I disabled the option to open links with external app because I want to do it manually only when I want.
For example in Firefox there is a button in the menu "open in app".
Is there any way to do this in kiwi? Even with an extension?
Edit: after all kiwi has this feature when we hold a link "select an external app". It needs just to put it in the menu

Chrome extention does not work in kiwi browser (verion - 99.0.4844.66 ) in my poco x3 nfc ( miui12.5.5 android 11 )
Whenever i enable any extention and after try to relaunch kiwi it does not relaunch.
i have tried multiple times to relaunch but extention does not enable.
please guide me how can i enable chrome extention kiwi browser.

Make sure you have Developer Mode enabled in your extension manager screen. Could be the issue.

I'm not sure if Poco phones have this option but on my phone if I go to Settings > Display and scroll down there is an option to change the Screens zoom and another option to change the size of font. Try changing those if your phone settings has it

This plugin started giving errors today. I am getting this message. Without background execution for Youtube, I cannot use this browser. You are not in the forum. But I wrote that maybe the notification will go away.

• Text reflow: Fennec TextWrap -> 'Text rewrap/reflow' in Accessibility options. I feel like it works better with 'Force enable zoom' also enabled

The setting in Accessibility options seems to make it difficult to scroll from left to right while zoomed in. I wondered if it would be possible to turn the main script from FF TextWrap into a userscript, though I am currently not sure how! I also found this but it didn't work. Hmm.

My biggest frustration with Chrome on Android is the incognito mode, if my phone crashes and restarts or runs out of ram, I lose all my tabs. I don't want to use the standard browsing mode because adverts start showing based on my browsing activity and its a pain having to manually clear history all the time.

On Safari for iOS, tabs only close when you close them, I think this is the way it should be as on mobile, ram is limited and apps auto close. Unfortunately I can't afford an iPhone although I might be forced to.

I tried Kiwi browser as it allows the use of Chrome extensions from desktop. On PC, session buddy is a real life saver, if my laptop battery runs out, I get the blue screen of death or for any reason Chrome prematurely shuts, all my open tabs are saved, and can be restored in an incognito window.

I tried installing session buddy in kiwi browser and I got excited when you can allow extensions in incognito mode. Unfortunately, it behaves strangely and the interface is not designed for mobile.

For the meantime, when my phone is low on memory, I notice that chrome or kiwi browser hibernates and restores the tabs when you switch back to the browser in incognito mode.

I was wondering if it was possible to create an option where incognito tabs are always restored when the browser closes just like Safari in iOS. There is also no option to bookmark all tabs like on desktop.

Hopefully one day, there'll be a working session extension for kiwi browser that can save incognito tabs. Otherwise, I'll get a used iPhone.

Instead of Session Buddy I use Export Tabs but it's of no use in case of Incognito tabs. You can install the excellent uBlock Origin extension in Kiwi and can get rid of 99.99% ads. I don't care about any data mining as long as I am not bothered by a single ad. Plus in Kiwi thanks to extensions I can customise the web pages just as I like them. Unless many, many more extensions become available it's not a viable option for me.
Edit: A Kiwi user posted in it's TG group that Bromite recently added a patch to enable recording of history of open Incognito tabs. This patch isn't available in Chromium yet so extensions are currently of no use. Bromite is very privacy focused so it might be to your taste. @Leonccyiu
Edit2: Tested and working. Had to relaunch the browser after making the changes. There's also an option to always open in Incognito mode. Under History there's a list of Incognito tabs available.
Edit3: Soul Browser which I use in a years old device as it's even lighter than Kiwi especially after A11 update also retains Incognito tabs even after a reboot! Also has an option to record history of opened Incognito tabs amongst other useful features.

The whole point of incognito mode is to remove (minimize) traces of whatever. Saving between sessions defeats the purpose and is a security issue. If the tabs are so important, group them and bookmark them.

I do use incognito mode to minimise traces of whatever, but I want to be able to switch to another app without losing my open tabs or if my battery runs out, or if my phone crashes and restarts and I am not ready to exit the tab yet.

Safari in iOS keeps your tabs open until you close them. Phones are not desktop PCs, they have aggresive app killing to conserve battery and keep the device speedy

I was going to say Chrome on Android doesn't allow bookmarking in incognito, but that seems to have changed now, it didn't allow bookmarking to select photos, but you can manually manage that, but you still can't bookmark all open tabs like on desktop, this is a real pain when you have dozens of tabs open and would be tedious to manually do all of them. The other issue is when you've bookmarked something, it comes up on the address bar autocomplete which is not ideal.

Thanks for your efforts, I'll check out Bromite and Soul Browser, I really like kiwi so far, I feel that it's faster and Chrome and uses less ram, with Chrome my pixel 3 struggles, but with kiwi I can use another app without the browser closing.

Export tabs does work in kiwi, but because of the way chromium is designed on Android, you can only see the most recent tabs as the others are cleared from memory. On Chrome on desktop, even when you end tab process, or the tab closes due to lack of memory, session buddy can see it. It requires a change in programming.

I'd prefer to use an extension to record my open tabs as recording tab history and manually deleting it is not ideal.

I will point out that Firefox on desktop records tab history unlike Chrome, if you reopen closed tab in Firefox, it'll open your closed private tab. Whether that's a bad design decision is debatable. I don't mind session buddy recording my open tabs as it's not accessible by websites or the browser itself.
