As a matter of fact, privileged install no longer seems to work for me with 2.0.4 beta: it ends with a crash. Logcat:

Is it a problem with my setup? Perhaps I need to grant additional permissions to make it work with the new version?

Its perhaps something I broke

Well I'm able to download them both, can you try spoofing your device once, say Nexus 5/Zenphone 4.
Damn, it worked. Thanks :)

I'm still confused why it didn't work without spoofing since I was able to download it when I had Google Play installed, but at least it works now. Thanks again!

Edit: It shows them as installable and I can download them, but I still can't install them.

HI, at first: Thanks for this awesome app!!!!

I use Aurora Store on Galaxy S7 on LOS 15.1 (Android 8.1, I think). I wanna try to install Titanium Backup with my license but on the Titanium is not activated, why?

I've been having problems with yalp not downloading so decided to try this one insteed. Same problem
The download starts and get stick at 0. Permissions are granted. Maybe theres a bug in android 8.1 . fdroid works fine though. Is there anyway i can get logs only for the app so i can see whats happening
I report too, how did you solve it?

Anyway, this is by far the best Play store replacement (except for the fact it doesn't work for me).

Now I use playstore. Needed this mostly when using microG but that project its kind of outdated now, so i use playstore.
So you didn't find a solution?
Yeah... MicroG seems almost abandoned. Yet it still works and it is still the only way to efficiently stay away from Google. And about Aurora, it actually looks better than playstore, except for that one LITTLE problem.

microG doesn't actually help you stay away from Google. You still have to sign in and use your Google account, so that's not really helping.

Try only using a custom ROM without gapps or microG and install F-Droid. Then you can install and use Aurora Store from it. No Google and better battery life :)

Indeed you do sign up with Google, but through an open source client, which will never do anything behind your back. Not to mention better battery life, RAM management...
But you might have a point, maybe not even MicroG is necessary. Now that many apps require "update of Google services" or not launch at all even with MicroG.

This is such an awesome app.
I just have one thing to ask.
Can you add an option to make rounded corners straight? Like in the old material design. I really loathe those rounded corner.
Or can you tell me how to do it myself (where to change in the code)?
Thank you so much !!!

Lite version?

Can you do a lite version? It is bloated.
There should only be 2 functions to keep:
Check installed user applications and update to their latest version, and
Input the package name of a free application to install.
No searching, no detail screen/reviews and such.

Maybe you should take a look at Yalp. It's the base for Aurora and could eventually match your needs in a better way.

Wasnt aware F-Droid did things that way. Thanks for that.

So with that said, would it be viable/possible for Aurora to look at where the app was installed from (F-Droid / Basic) to eliminate that possibility.
That is also implemented in 4.2.2. So it should be all good now.

What do you mean by reproducible apps?
(also that's cool you guys implemented checking the signature rather than "installed by").
These resources from F-Droid clarify what this is:

it seems that the aurora store update check works properly, a few weeks ago even if ive tapped on "update" nothing happened, but today ive tried again and the app successfully updated itself to 4.4.2(56) on lineage20.
as i remember correctly ive installed the app as a standalone apk not thru fdroid.

on my other device (lineage17) the app was installed thru f-droid and the lates version available is 4.3.5.
is the new 4.4.2 is coming to fdroid aswell eventually or not? if not ill reinstall the newest version via apk.
Hi, 4.4.2 is on F-Droid (just not marked as suggested yet). You can go to Aurora Store's page manually, scroll down, and install it manually for now. I will mark it as suggested next week and then it will be available as an Update for everyone like it normally does.

Also thanks for the feedback on self-update working properly on the non-Fdroid version. Have you permitted Aurora Store to run in the background? I have a report on GitLab where people mentioned it doesn't work for them.

omg i was mistaken, somehow i remembered that the latest version is always on the bottom so my brain didnt "see" the 442 :D
    got it, thanks.

as for your question: i have two of the same device with los20, one of them asked if i allow background install of apps, the other phone didnt ask at all but both phone notified me everytime ive launched the app that there is an update, wanna install.. regardless of choice didnt happen anything so in the last couple of days/week ive always choose ignore. today i though lets try, i tap on update and it worked on both phones.

    3. Go to accounts -> Logout -> Login
    4. Enjoy! (Optional)
