Extract the BromiteSystemWebView.zip and place the latest webview as per architecture under "/system/app/webview/webview.apk" then compress as zip file and install in Magisk. Also, install the webview apk once again as normal.

Thank you for this.

When I add the apk, zip it and attempt to install with Magisk, I receive 'This zip is not a Magisk module'.

What am I missing?

Thanks. The updater-script in the original template was a bit out of date. When I modeled mine after the latest file you provided, it was accepted and installed by Magisk.

However, the Bromite WebView still isn't working with this ROM (modded stock Oreo). Google is using the WebViewGoogle Folder and doesn't seem to recognize any other WebView versions.

Thanks again for your help.

Chromium base version 69.
Brave vs Bromite vs Kiwi HTML5 test.

Surprised to see Kiwi in second place while brave in leading the pack

P.S - Bromite does not seem to do cosmetic filtering for ads. Brave doesn't do it too. AFAIK, Only Firefox with uBlock origin and Kiwi does it.

Bromite and kiwi, both with adfilter turned OFF (I have root and adaway)

Ps: if I refresh sometimes it's 523, sometimes it's 525 for both of them so...

....and in real life usage you will notice no difference at all.

Hardware??? Low end devices???
I think you not understand what that score is for...

Webpage rendering? Feautures? Security?
All of theses combined together is what im talking about. On my Rooted device(The low-end one im talking about) runs kiwi and brave smoothly, But Bromite does lag a bit and is very noticable.

That difference is reflected here.

And nothing of the score has anything to do with your lagging device.
You don't provide any examples, don't mention what device and which Android version you have, didn't test in Chromium and don't notice that the developer of Bromite is not in this thread anymore. File an issue at GitHub if this is important to you.

Okay here we go -
My Device - Samsung galaxy core prime
Android Version - crDroid 7.1.2
Chipset - Spreadtrum sc7730s
Does it lay on Chromium? - No. But some pages do. (Bromite has noticible lag in scrolling)
Is it important to me? - Nope. Just letting the community know
Dev of Bromite - Yes. I knew that @csagan5 isn't active in the forums right when he said that.

Regarding html5test and what it reports, I get various devices when using Bromite.
ZTE Axon 7, SL!M6 DF!NR custom stock Nougat, Bromite 68...126: Reported as Chrome 63 on Samsung Galaxy J7.
Moto G5s Plus, Bootleggers Oreo, Bromite 68...126: Reported as Chrome Dev 67.0.3396.87 on a Samsung Galaxy S8. Bromite webview shows the same (via ADM Browser).
LG G3, PAC-MAN Lollipop, stock browser using Bromite webview 68...126: Reported as Chromium webview 62 on a Oppo A37fw.

Using any other browsers will show the correct device or show no device. Is that normal?

Moto G5S Plus XT1806, BootleggersROM-Shishufied, microG (NoGapps), MultiROM, XDA Legacy

Yes, because Bromite does not deliver this information to websites.
