I like it when it works. I have been having this issue where it just stopped working, flat out. No haptic vibrate nothing and being my navbar is hidden (via build.prop) i get stuck so i have to use Google voice to open gmd then it starts working but then stops after a while. I had to go back to swipe navigator, way smaller app with limited gesture but never failed me.

By the way am on pixel 2 xl 8.1 - magisk 16.0. Any help would be appreciated. Love this app but not that reliable at the moment.

Device in question
- Pixel 2 xl
-8.1 stock rom
- Magisk 16.0
- full GMD Gesture not the lite

Could you post a log?

I can confirm this too, the app becomes unresponsive sometimes even when GMD the app is opened the gestures aren't activating any action as if it's frozen. Even after making GMD a system app(it makes it load faster when restarting the phone) and excluding it from being dosed. To regain back the normal functionality I would have to stop GMD clear the cache and restart it back. I do this from time to time. I can't confirm for certain if this happened on Nougat too or not but it's happening on the latest Oreo security update. Any way the device I am using is a Nexus 6p, using Magisk for root. By the way my N6p isn't my daily driver rather my backup phone so i don't use it too frequently, but I hate it when it just becomes unresponsive.

I can't post a log because I don't know when it's triggered to become unresponsive.

I've tried to use this app on Honor V10, but it stopped to working every some minutes. I've tried to make it system, but have no success. Problem the same. I've found that problem is related to app killing by Power Genie Engine and it disabling leads to normal app work. But Power Genie also kills other apps, so, without it phone drains battery very fast.

I've tried to investigate real problem with app (other apps works fine, when I disable battery optimizations) and have an idea, that main problem in separate process, started by app (/data/data/com.goodmooddroid.gesturecontrol/files). It seems, Power Genie does not recognize owner of process and kills it periodically.

As ideas, I can suggest (I'm not developer, so, it can be useless suggestions :) ):
* try to run all code in one process
* try to run separate process directly to make it child of current process
* try to restart process automatically in case of sudden death (can be rase condition with phone killer, but it better than nothing)

Hi everyone! I have been using your App for 5 years and it is great. Gesture navigation has gained popularity due to iPhone x now but the developer seems to have nailed it a long back. Great work.

I have a request to the developer to add swipe and hold gesture options like that is there in iPhone X to open recent apps. Many of the Android phone makers have started giving swipe and hold options. It would be much appreciated and I think it won't be too difficult to implement.

Second Space Issue

Hi, everyone.

Can somebody help me with GMD?
There is MIUI 9 (Android 7, Redmi Note 4x Snap, root Magisk..) and 2 spaces: 1st Main and 2nd User (Second Space Stock Feature, Android MultiUser...)

1) GMD is installed at both spaces:
I draw gesture in 2nd Space, there is a vibration and it executes the app in 1st Space :)

2) when GMD is installed only in 2nd space:
I draw gesture in 2nd Space, there is a vibration, but no action at all

I NEED to draw gestures in 2nd Space and it must execute apps/actions in 2nd Space properly.

mmm? any ideas, guys?

Yes this would be a great gesture to have. Are there any plans on adding it?

Also I can't get the gestures to work on the lockscreen! This is my biggest gripe so far. If I am on the lockscreen while on a call, google maps, etc. I cant go back anymore as the gestures dont work in the lockscreen (I disabled nav bar so back button does not appear). Is there any way to fix this?

btw thanks for the amazing app!

I found that in order to get GMD to work reliably on Oreo I had to go into Settings-->Apps-->Gmd Gesture Control-->App Notifications and turn on "Override Do Not Disturb". Otherwise it simply would not reliably detect gestures.

Running the following:
Xiaomi Mi Mix
crDroid 4.3 (nightly) (oreo - 8.1)

App is fantastic so far, gestures really are changing the way I use this phone.

Feature Request: Switch Tabs button for Browser actions.

Right now, we have "Previous Tab" and "Next Tab" browser actions as choices. I think it would be awesome if there was additional action that would mimick the "Switch Tabs" button. I find myself using that more than just a single tab back and forth.

Again, this is a fantastic app so far.

I'd like to use gmd with one hand when I use the device on my bed and with the hand I hold the phone so I can use just one finger. The problems come with multifingers.it would be helpful to use the fingerprints sensor so I can touch the fingerprint reader and than with the other finger I can activate a gesture

Because of hardware problems, I'm back to my old Android Honeycomb tablet. I seem to recall using this on Android 3 before, but I can't find a compatible version of the app anywhere. Did I miss something or is my memory wrong?

Hi there,
I just installed the paid version on my device and I'm really pleased with it. All works fine. But there's a bug within the app. Although I set the option to hide the notification. It always comes back after a while and I have to hide it again. The only way to suppress it permanently is to disable gmd notifications in Android settings. But then the toast messages and vibration are suppressed too, which I don't want. Can you please fix this issue?
Does anyone else has this issues?

I'm on a rooted Galaxy s3 with ressurection remix N 7.1.2 (latest build for this device)

Thank

It's an issue that comes up from time to time. NotifyClean (xposed) worked for me in the past.

When using gestures for screenshot, I cannot capture toast messages or any system message. It closes the message first then captures the screen.
How to fix this?

Thanks, PhilipTD, for generous donation :highfive:
As a sigh on gratitude I built you latest development version of Gesture Control with Lollipop support. This is the first time I'm sending someone lollipop update.
Quite a few features do not work but still it is usable
Please let me know if you did not receive it.

    Progress update:
I'm currently working on Spen Control lollipop support but a lot of internal thing are common. However UI part is separate and while I updated Spen Control to 'material', GC is still holo.
I will be releasing SPen Control first with refreshed ui and lollipop support but I want to make bigger update for GC and add/rework many things that were discussed here or I just have in mind. Some things are already implemented but need to be merged into master some still need to be done. Main idea is to clean up GC so it is more intuitive to new users but more advanced features still will be available when digging deeper into settings.
    1) One good example would be path and recorded gestures. In new version I want to join them in one dialog. So user can pick from predefined set of path gestures (swipe left, swipe right, double tap, expand, pinch, etc.) or record it but entering custom path string still will be accessible. At the moment it is confusing for new users they would they want to enter path instead of recording (pinch for example).
    2) Another example is launchpad settings. Currently its confusing that you have to select which launchpad you want to configure. In new version settings will be accessible directly from launchpad instead and configure particular launchpad.
    3) Blacklist - each gesture will have option to select apps where it is active/inactive. General blacklist will be simplified where you can select if gestures are enabled/disabled in homescreen, apps, lockscreen and keyboard.
    4) Default gestures - I will remove default gestures tab and pre-create these in User Gestures for new users. Lite version will have limited number of available actions but users still can change gestures for these actions.
    5) Settings, touch consumption, Advanced tabs, Help will be moved to menu. App will be Gestures view.
    6) Touch Consumption - after user multitouch screen several times with 3 or more fingers but do not execute any gesture app will popup a tutorial explaining touch consumption with link to settings. Now quite a few new users are confused why their effort at Fruit Ninja does not give any result.
    7) Reviewing/regrouping/fixing actions - so far I was just throwing in new actions. Some didn't work on particular android versions, others didn't work on some devices. I haven't decided how it will be done but I want to clean it up. I want to add plugins support too (downloadable from play store) so some really niche things or some bigger complex thing could be moved there.
    8) Backup/Import/Export - long time promised, its time to add it.

While such things don't add much for experienced users it will improve overall 'quality' of the app.

Why cant I just release an old version with lollipop support? I don't have such version. I added lollipop support to half broken/work in progress version and I intend to move forward instead of backporting it. Its not just SeLinux/root issues that needed to be fixed. Some internal Api changed, recent apps work differently, etc, etc. It will be released when ready. Family > full time job > Android (4-20 hours per week).

    10.0.0-alpha

    Uploaded 10.0.0-alpha to Alpha channel:
    https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.goodmooddroid.gesturecontrol

    Changes:
    - Android Nougat support (requires SuperSu v2.78)
    - Minor fixes

    Notes:
Tested it on N6P (7.1.1) and N72013 (6.0.1). All actions, keyboard detections and per app settings should work. But I didn't test any older Android yet.

    Thanks hasenbein1966, for donation :highfive:

    Update:
Currently Launchpad and Blacklist are completely broken. UI is mix of material and holo. There are still some issues with recent apps. I will create alpha version G+ channel (without support) for lollipop version when I have more stable build.
