I don't see a shortcut from the LGremote control but i downloaded SURE remote control app and it works perfect
Is that from the Play Store? If so could you share the link. Neither SURE nor PEEL remotes show up for me. I wouldn't mind checking out alternatives. Thanks.

Go to the google play and type SURE download this app and you are good to go if you don't work you may able to root your device to make this work but you have that link and follow instructions if you have a rooted device so just follow the instructions then download this app.

Nope, not showing up for me. Maybe because I'm on Lollipop right now? I'll check again when I boot into another ROM.

EDIT: Found it. But I had to go through the web first which then opened it up on the Play Store. Not compatible with my device is the reason it wouldn't show up.
Added it to my wishlist so I can check it out later.

Heh heh. Yes I understand. I'm rooted and multiboot (switch between) up to 7 ROMs on this phone. KitKat, Lollipop, and Marshmallow on an LG G3.
I'll try and grab it and see if it works. Thank you, sir.

Will this work on my LG G3 beat (rooted stock rom)
I do not know. I'm thinking not as these "ports" are for AOSP/CM.
So the beat doesn't come with a remote?

There are three xda threads for this remote that I know of. Two are for Lollipop, one for Marshmallow.
You could try but do a backup first or know how to remove the remote if it screws things up.

The beat does come with a remote but since I rooted my phone the remote app does not work

Oh, okay. You're in the wrong place. The OP states this is for LP. The filename also includes LP in it. So of course it's not gonna work.

Go to the thread below. Installation is a bit more involved. Read the OP carefully and follow the steps. Don't take shortcuts either. We're trying to see how many success stories we can get.

Is it possible for this to work on other phones running snapdragon and rooted with IR blaster? i.e. Samsung Note 4, or does it need specific LG drivers?

For these LP ports I am not sure. But folks on non-LG devices have reported success with the Marshmallow QuickRemote port.
Give 'er a try on your Note 4 and report back.

If the port in this thread doesn't work check out the other LP QuickRemote thread and try those.

Does it work on AOSP with different kind of apps that are intended to use the IR blaster sensor, or only the ported and optimized version of LG G3 QuickRemote app will work on it?
Examples for different apps are either SURE or Control-IT.

This zip installs the QuickRemote app and enables the IR blaster to work on AOSP Lollipop ROMs for the LG G3 (and G2). Not every device or rom has been tested, so flash at your own risk.
Credits go to @sefnap for the original G2 port, @RieGo for the original scripts, and @zzeneg for updating to the G3 versions.

    WORKAROUND DETAILS:
The default SELinux policy for android was changed to enforcing mode in Lollipop to increase security. This restricts the functionality of some apps, so for QuickRemote to work we have to change the SELinux policy back to permissive mode until we have a better solution.
This zip installs an init.d script which runs at boot and sets the SELinux policy, as well as other permissions. It will also create the file /sdcard/QRemote.log, which records the SELinux policy at startup.

    INSTRUCTIONS:
--Make a backup (or at least download the uninstall)
--Install the latest SuperSU (highly recommended)
    --Wipe dalvik/cache (just in case)
--Flash zip in recovery (TWRP or PhilZ)
    --Reboot--
--It may take a moment for device manufacturers to load, so be patient.

    TROUBLESHOOTING:
First, make sure init.d is enabled:
-Check for /sdcard/QRemote.log. If the file isn't there, the init.d script did not run.
---Enable init.d support with this app

-If it still isn't working after enabling init.d and rebooting, verify that SELinux was set to permissive at boot in QRemote.log
---Try this app to set the SELinux policy instead.
If the QuickRemote app force closes when you open it:
-Make sure QuicksetSDK is installed. It won't be in the app drawer, so check Setting->Apps->All
-Clear QuicksetSDK data, delete /sdcard/Quickset Setup, reboot

Thanks to everyone in this thread for helping figure this thing out!

Congratulations for making the portal news. :)
Oh, sweet! I didn't see that!

    Updated
So, here's another update that should set SELinux to permissive on boot. It will also make a log file (/sdcard/QRemote.log) to confirm that the init.d script ran and show the SELinux policy at boot. Hopefully this will help troubleshooting.
This is a lot of trial and error since this stuff is all new to me, so I appreciate everyone's patience and feedback.

@op if you want help getting this to work on enforcing im willing to help

Here's the Quickremote zip with the updated QuicksetSDK (For CM12!):

I hope you don't mind me uploading this here @zzeneg, all credits are going to you! If you want me to, I'll take it offline immediately.

I think it should work on any 5.0 AOSP-Rom.

For some reason my IR-Blaster isn't working, the app launches, but the IR-Blaster just doesn't work.

    OP updated with Lollipop fix!
Man, it's good to have this back.. Thanks, @Xerionius and @ahk31!
