Is that a newer version than what is on the Play Store?
Asus Zenfone 8 is phone if you mean that? Also version of VoIP recorder i have is older (1.2)

thanks.
on apkpuredotcom i can only find boldbeast's "

VoIP Recorder

& Screen Recorder" 2.2

Forgot to mention that there's no apk, only xapk which you can install through lucky patcher after trying few times, if not, then you should search in play store for those xapk installers

Download version 1.2 from apkpure, that one works for me and is without that "update to latest version of app" message
I tried using v1.2 but it's not working. It doesn't show the 'Update to the latest version' warning, but it complains about the CallRecordingFix Magisk module that it is made for newer versions. I think the module I have works with v2.0+. I checked here but the releases have been deleted by the dev. Could you please share the Magisk module that you're using with this version? That would be godsend.

Update: Don't bother with that as it just gave me the 'Update to the latest version' warning. This app is doomed I guess. Hope a new alternative comes soon.

Downgrading to 1.2 worked for me. I believe the callrecordingfix files are actually included as a part of the apk installation. Try uninstalling and deleting the old ones, then try installing 1.2 again. The appropriate modules should be in the sdcard folder.

Thanks. Yes, I found them there, but it's still giving me the update message. I'm using the APK from here: https://m.apkpure.com/voip-recorder...nload/6-XAPK-e6a6af0bacd697289dd7814da202562b . Are you also using the same one?.

Update: I installed it from the APKPure app and it doesn't give the warning now. Module installed successfully as well. But it records blank clips. There's no sound. I've given it all the permissions.

Yeah, mine is from apkpure as well. No update message, both sides recorded properly on 1.2. I suggest trying to completely uninstall the app and use the provided callrecordingfix uninstaller and try again. I went through all the versions available and only 1.2 seems to work still.

I tried that but it didn't work. It shows v2004 of callrecordingfix module in Magisk? Is it the same version you're using?

Are you also using Magisk v25.2 with Zygisk?
I think that's problem, because back then i was trying all different combinations of versions of magisk and versions of VoIP recorder app till i found proper combination that worked for my device (LG V30 Oreo), if you're interested, you can read more about it here, but back then there wasn't warning message about "need to update", so version 1.7 worked for me, but i'm rn using 1.2 with magisk 20.4:

You should try reinstalling/rerooting more versions of magisks on phone and find which one works with VoIP recorder 1.2, or even better with this pro mod unlocked version 2.0 if it doesn't have "update" warning and if it works on your device (sadly on my device any newer version than 1.7 doesn't work for some reason no matter "update" message and no matter version of magisk i install) :

It could also be Android version problem if you have 12, as i think for that one app isn't supported?

Thanks for the info. I'm using LG V35 with Android 9 so this might work.

I just now realised that maybe newer versions of app don't work to me because of android version (and on newer androids newer versions of app probably works, and with newer versions of magisk) so maybe you be better luck and that one and only pro mod version found on internet 2.0 works for you (if there's no "update" message in it of course)? Then you would have unlimited recordings

But overall:
1) We all need some alternative to this app in near future, someone to develop
2) Developer could make it open source to help
3) If we still won't have alternatives for now, someone should make pro mod apk but 1.2

I tried to install Magisk 20.4 but it gives me the requires additional setup message. It only goes away when I update to 22.1. But then root doesn't work with VoIP. I've given up on this app now. It was working great with the latest Magisk 25.2 till September 2022 when it started showing the update message. The modded 2.0 version also shows the update message. It was a good run till it lasted. Just need to wait for alternatives to pop up.

When you click no thanks or cancel to that requires additional setup message , does that message keep appearing every time you enter magisk? I can't remember if it asked me, maybe it did just first time

Edit: Thanks for letting us know for 2.0, but you can still try have 1.2 if you want, which works great
Guessing you installed/flashed magisk zip (from official github v20.4) through twrp? And previous version complete uninstalled through magisk app?

Android VoIP Call Recording - Record video calls and voice calls from VoIP apps such as WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook Messenger, Google Voice, Google Hangouts, Google Duo, Line, WeChat, Skype, magicApp, Signal etc, is a feature many Android users are waiting for. But for so many years you still can't enjoy the feature, even if your Android phones are more and more powerful, even if you have rooted your phone.

Several recorders said they can record VoIP calls, but actually they can't. Why? Because Android allows only one app to use the microphone. As a result,
    • If the VoIP app (WhatsApp, Skype etc) is using the microphone, the recorder fails to start recording.
    • If the recorder is using the microphone, the caller can't hear your voice during the call because the VoIP app (WhatsApp, Skype etc) is denied to use the microphone.
For this reason all call recorders and all screen recorders can't record VoIP calls. You can test and confirm the fact yourself.

    Boldbeast VoIP Call Recorder
This app adds the VoIP Call Recording feature to your phone. It uses the microphone in a shared manner, so it can record VoIP calls successfully on all Android phones.
    • Record video calls and voice calls from VoIP apps such as WhatsApp, Skype etc. Actually all VoIP apps on the market are supported.
    • Capture game playing, video playing, music playing, app using etc. Recordings can be saved as video+audio files or pure audio files. Audio is loseless because the data is copied directly from the system internal.
    • Audio can be saved in stereo or in mono.
    • Save all recordings locally in your phone memory or in the external SD card, so they are available at once after recording is ended.
    • Manage recordings, play back, rename, delete, share etc.

    Requirement
    • Android 5.0 up.
    • Root needed.

    Installation
    • Install the app from Google Play: Android VoIP Call Recorder
    • In the app tap "Root > Grant Root Access" to grant root access to this app.
    • On the screen you'll see the folder name in which the CallRecordingFix module is saved. Please use Magisk Manager to install the CallRecordingFix module from the folder.
    • Power off then power on the phone.
Now you can enjoy the new VoIP call recording feature on your Android phone.

Start / Stop / Pause / Resume Recording
When a VoIP call comes, the VoIP app (WhatsApp, Skype etc) doesn't notify this app, so this app can't start recording automatically because it doesn't know the event. You should tap the record button on the notification or on the float view to start recording. When the call is ended, this app doesn't know the event either, so you should tap the stop button to stop recording. During recording you can pause and resume recording if you want.

    Feedback
The app has just been released. Feedback, bug reports are welcomed.

Ok, the problem was solved after i made a call as other member mentioned before. But the problem I have now is that after having installed the module through magisk, when i open the app it says the module is not installed, but in magisk shows up as installed.
Thanks to AloneDevils for sending log files to me. I checked his log files, and found a minor bug that made the problem.
I have just released the new version of Boldbeast VoIP Recorder V1.2 in Google Play, the problem has been fixed. Please
    - update the app in your phone to V1.2.
    - tap "Root > Check CallRecordingFix" to generate the new CallRecordingFix module.
    - use Magisk Manager to install the new CallRecordingFix module.
    - reboot the phone.
Now it should work. In Magisk Manager please confirm the module is V2004.

Google Play may need time to publish the new version, so please wait a while if needed.

I DO installed the fix module through magisk, but when I check callrecordingfix in this app,it keep saying “you have not installed the call recording fix module yet". Please help. My device are pixel 2xl and pixel 3axl with Android 10 rooted via magisk.
Another user met the same problem on his Pixel 3a XL Android 10 phone, and he sent log files to me.
I'm checking the log files at this moment. It seems a file in CallRecordingFix is not executed when Magisk starts up. I'll fix it soon.
