@nubla can you please try to switch to periodically checking for new messages in the receive settings (every 15 minutes) ? You can make an exception for the other account a little lower.

This will result in delays up to 15 minutes, but I like to know whether this works reliably.

Unfortunately the periodic check also does not reliably get the messages. The log shows three checks were done so far, but two unread new emails still have not been fetched.

EDIT: A pull down refresh also did not fetch them.

That's pretty weird. Can you please enable protocol logging in the miscellaneous settings, wait until a next failed check and send me the debug info by long pressing 'Support' in the navigation menu?

Ok, sent.

The fetch does not fail, i.e. no errors noticed, but it does not retrieve new mail.

Yes, MODSEQ is disabled.

Yes, MODSEQ is disabled.

It looks like the server search doesn't work correctly:

Code:
JX8 OK SEARCH completed.
* SEARCH
JX8 SEARCH OR SINCE 17-Nov-2021 BEFORE 31-Dec-1970 ALL

So, no messages since November 17 were returned. The "BEFORE 31-Dec-1970" is due to searching for messages without date (you can disable this again).

Things to try:
  • Enable to synchronize unread messages in the receive settings
  • Increase the sync window to 30 days (default 7 days) by long pressing the folder (inbox) in the folder list and selecting to edit the folder properties
  • Switch to using the sent date, please see this FAQ
This is not necessary in this case when switching to the sent date:

This will not change the time of already synchronized messages. To solve this, long press the folder(s) in the folder list and select Delete local messages and Synchronize now.

I've read messages from 2019 in this thread, that say it is possible to save an email in the raw .eml format. But I can't find the way to do it. Can you point me in the right direction?
You can find a menu item for this in the horizontal three-dots menu just above the message text near the left side. You might need to tap on the ">" button to show the message actions again.

Never mind, I found it. I was looking in the menu in the messages list when you have a message selected. Instead, you have to open the message and access the menu there.

Edit: thanks Marcel, you beat me to it.

Hello.I wonder if there could be added an option that emails could appear only when phone screen is on.The purpose of this is to be able to delete unwanted emails easily and quickly with one button from notifications area one at a time...

I am not sure what you mean?

Hi Marcel, perhaps I have overlooked something. Since 1.1780, the button for feedbacks under "Assets" is missing on the release page. Is that intentional?

GitHub (Microsoft) determines this, but let's not overlook the obvious: are you logged in?
I'm logged in. On https://github.com/PhilippC/keepass2android/releases I see the button:

How was the call with Google today, Marcel?

Google was pretty friendly and cooperative and told me the favicons are indeed the problem, and it can/should be fixed by updating in the privacy policy to "disclose how your app accesses, collects, uses, and shares user data":

    Privacy Policy

All apps must post a privacy policy in both the designated field in Play Console and within the app itself. The privacy policy must, together with any in-app disclosures, comprehensively disclose how your app accesses, collects, uses, and shares user data, not limited by the data disclosed in the Data Safety section. This must include:
    • developer information and a privacy point of contact or a mechanism to submit inquiries
    • disclosing the types of personal and sensitive user data your app accesses, collects, uses, and shares; and any parties with which any personal or sensitive user data is shared
    • secure data handling procedures for personal and sensitive user data
    • the developer’s data retention and deletion policy
    • clear labeling as a privacy policy (e.g., listed as “privacy policy” in title)
The entity (e.g., developer, company) named in the app’s Google Play listing must appear in the privacy policy or the app must be named in the privacy policy. Apps that do not access any personal and sensitive user data must still submit a privacy policy.

Please make sure your privacy policy is available on an active URL (no PDFs) and is non-editable.

So, I have updated the privacy policy and added this new table:

    https://github.com/M66B/FairEmail/blob/master/PRIVACY.md#summary-of-shared-data

I am not sure if it covers everything, so feedback is more than welcome. @mkasimd maybe you can take a look?

Note that I have also enabled BIMI, Gravatars, Libravatars and favicons for the Play store version again.

The short term goal is to release a Play store test version (and associated GitHub version) and to get the update approved. I will think about the next steps after this has been accomplished. Given the huge number of supportive messages I received (much appreciated!) the project will be continued in some form in any case.

Version 1.1900 is available on GitHub now and in the Play store test program after Google's approval (which is the main goal of this release).

It is time for a new, modern, open source, privacy friendly email client for Android.

I have just released a first alpha version for feedback on the design and features.

    Not for production use yet!

Most of the stuff basically works, but be prepared for crashes and error notifications.

Safe email is a working name, but it is for several reasons not a convenient name, so suggestions for a name are welcome.

I have just released alpha version 0.15

    Changelog/download:

With a bit of luck the next version can be a beta version.

I am putting a lot of effort into this project, so thanks are appreciated.
