Niagara Launcher

Hey everyone, this is Niagara Launcher, a clean, smooth and fast launcher.

Key features:
  • List based for easy access and a minimal look
  • You can open Apps in a quick way due to the always accessible scrollbar
  • Enhanced notification “dots”: Read summaries right on your homescreen and swipe right to open them for every detail.
  • App shortcuts (Introduced in Android 7.1 – some of them are backwards compatible)
  • Media Player integration (notification access needed)
  • Hide Apps to remove bloatware/preinstalled apps
  • Icon Pack support

Some features, like widgets & folders, are still missing, because Niagara was only just released (to open beta) a few days ago. I’m trying my best to implement many more requests. If you want to look at them or file a bug report, go to Niagara Issues on GitHub (see the link below)

After a few minutes of tests.....
Very nice laucher ! :good:
Is it possible to add option to show/hide date and time and also the names of the apps ?
(see my screenshot with the ugly red rectangles)
Thank you!

I tried hiding app names (in the favorite section) and noticed it was awkward. E.g., launching apps feels odd because you don't tap on the label, instead you go for the icon, but they are placed on the left and reaching the top one feels uncomfortable. The labels also do function as visual guidelines. If you've got some ideas to solve that problem, let me know!
However, hiding the date & time will be possible.

..i really like the concept :)

I have another idea : what do you think to add the ability to launch an app without have to tapp the icon/name?
I'm thinking of something like this:
- you use the thumb to scroll thru the letters
- while you scroll you see only the apps starting with that letter (as it is working now)
- if you stay on that letter for more than a specified time the "focus" move to the app's list starting with that letter
- now if you start moving your thumb you scroll thru the apps and when you rise the thumb the app opens.

ok ... i'm rushing a little bit :D

Nice concept. I can definitely see myself using this over other pixel launcher clones but I am too used to have my Google feed at swipe away and "at a glance widget" or some implementation of that is a must have for any launchers nowadays (imo). Maybe some sort of pixel bridge like implementation in the future? Anyway, great job!

I am using Xiaomi Mi8.
How to see list of important message? I still cannot find it.
And notification dot not work also, even i have give permission to read notification. Right now i have notification for WhatsApp, mi fit and apps's but there are no sign of notification. Screenshots attached.
Anyway, it is unconventional design of launcher, two thumbs up!

I'm trying the launcher right now and i like the idea. Great work. What do you think to implement a new section (or an option for the favorite section) where to show the most used apps?
Tnx.
Thank you for trying it out! Most used apps automatically appear below your favorites after some time.

Thanks! Weather information will be included soon, and I will experiment with showing your next appointments & Google integration.

Pretty damn innovative AND intuitive! I love swiping to the right to activate the shortcuts. Why don't you add the option to swipe left to open up a widget for the app, just like those in Action Launcher! :p
