Hi, just a curiosity question, does it temper system files (and that's why root is needed), or is it just data ? I need to know if this is tempering system partition, because if it's the case, my ROM will not update any more with official OTAs...
There will be no problem in updating your rom , the app just adds the paired devices data so the phone recongnize them (after a new clean flash) .

I am using this app since it was released and it is working great , in Nougat and also in Oreo :good::good:

Thanks to the dev

I don't understand something : I'm able to restore Bluetooth pairs, but most of the time it does not connect to the device and I have to reconfigure each pair manually...

Am I the only one ?

Nah, I have the same issue. I first learned that you can't restore this app, only install fresh to give proper root authority.

Secondly, the Bluetooth restore doesn't work for me anymore. I confirmed my car's Bluetooth entry was in the config before restoring, but it still had to be manually repaired.

WiFi or Bluetooth no longer restore for me anymore. Only the last used WiFi network restored, everything else was gone.

Bluetooth restore didn't bring anything back :/

Ok, thanks for the tip about restoration issue, I will try a clean install next time.
The other thing I'm not sure about is if it's important to be in the same ROM "type" ? For example, if I backup under stock ROM 5.1.1, can I restore on MIUI 5.1.1 ( meaning will it work afterwards ;))

Anyone have an alternative app for Bluetooth pairs that works? I'm swapping between two different ROMs and every time I have to re-pair my devices.
I'm going to give titanium backup a try. I've backed up my pairings, so now I'm just waiting for the next time I clean flash an update to test and see if it works.

I own titanium backup pro..I don't recall the bluetooth pairings transferring correctly. Either they didn't show up after reboot or they did but wouldn't actually pair which defeats the purpose. (currently using an oreo rom so could be related to that)

With BT off, I've been deleting /data/misc/bluedroid/bt_config.conf, then copying the bt_config.conf file from the .pairs backup folder and pasting it into /data/misc/bluedroid. Its been hit or miss with my car pairing but all others semm to work.

Here is what I observed in the app and Oreo :
- the app just backs up or replace files in /data/misc (which need root access)
- the files are bt_config.conf (for Bluetooth pairings), softap.conf (for access point), and wpa_supplicant.conf (for stored Wi-Fi's)
- it seems to me that softap.conf is no longer in XML (at least between 5.1.1 and 8.x)
- the file for Wi-Fi's seems now to be WifiConfigStore.xml

If it can help someone to update the app for Oreo...I will try the manipulations manually and tell if it works...

Have you tried cleaning storage for SuperSU app and launch it again ? You would lose your root permissions for other apps, but you need a working root management app...

Or try the unSu script and root your phone again.
