So I'm trying to figure out "Why?"

The launcher is nothing special, except that it lack an app drawer, which strikes most as a bad idea. The camera app was panned by most reviewers. Why would you want to run these on a device that has better software already, and when there are many better 3rd party products?

That's the beauty of customization. There could be many who would like the apps. There's no one forcing you to try out these apps and neither can you on others.

I took it one step forward and ported them to Lollipop.
(Except the launcher which seem to have an issue working properly, while it doesn't throw any exception to trace the problem)
    Install as normal APKs.

Note: Don't expect the Camera ISO control to work on devices that don't support manual ISO (i.e. Xperia devices).

    Nextbit Launcher for Android 5.0+

I've downported the Nextbit launcher to Android 5.0+.
Only issue I found (apart from pinned/archieved apps, obviously), is that the icons don't appear sometimes (some people already commented it, OP solution is to reboot the device), but it's more than usable.
For low-end devices, please take care, since it uses a lot of CPU & GPU, my device felt like a toaster while using it lol

Screenshots with proofs + APK in the attachments. Enjoy :D
EDIT: Please refer to #51 for an updated Launcher APK

I might also do Gallery + Camera, let me know if you want it ;)

Nice job, tested and working very well on 5.1.1!

I think I've also seen what you're talking about the launcher, and I think I found a solution. Thanks to a heads up on Twitter by @MSF Jarvis, I saw some logcat spamming in it, and it seems the problem is located in com.nextbit.services.p, in the private method e.
As a solution, I replaced the intent to nextbit constellation services to a( let's say )"dummy" one, running com.google.android.gms.measurement.UPLOAD located at com.google.android.gms/.measurement.AppMeasurementService... It's only executed once, so it doesn't drain the battery. Also, in that very same class, I replaced some if-nez I found with if-eqz (so that it didn't run in a loop like it was) and... Well... Now even the desktop icons display properly 100% of the times I tried!

I think my next step would be to clear the fog, it really produces heavy lag while swiping the desktops on a Snap 400

TL;DR: Updated launcher, with fixed desktop icons and no logcat spamming attached below
P.S. Thanks IaguCool for the headsup :)
