Thanks, but I can't find that option, I have ' + add action' which then gives 'settings' social+messaging' and 'applications' none of which have a switch option.
Switch tag, not a task tag. Thanks, but I can't find that option, I have ' + add action' which then gives 'settings' social+messaging' and 'applications' none of which have a switch option.
If you mean work with the screen locked this will require flashing your device with a modified NFC service that is set up to run with the screen locked. Otherwise Android disables NFC as soon as the screen turns off and does not re-enable it until the screen is on AND the device unlocked. Is app can support screen locked phone (sleep)?
If the app isn't installed it will take then to the play store to install it.Question: if I write a tag using NFC Task Launcher can any NFC capable phone read it, even without the Task Launcher app installed?

This is actually a valid point and an issue I've run into myself. A new available task should be "reset switch X to mode 1/2". So if you do use the task in your house it resets the car task.Hello.
I have been using NFC Task Launcher for some weeks now, and, like many of you, with one tag inside my car.
For me, this tag is supposed to be a "Switch", if I enter my car, I activate the thing and it goes in "Enter Car" mode :
- Bluetooth On
- Data On
- Wifi Off, etc.
If I leave my car, say for shopping, I activate it again and it goes into "Leave Car" mode : Bluetooth turns Off, Volume goes Up etc.
I have one issue thought, it's that I don't always activate the tag a second time.
For example if I arrive at home, there is no point in activating again the switch tag inside my car and going into "Leave Car" mode since I will be activating one inside the house.
So if I am on "Enter Car" mode, and I activate the tag inside the house, the next time I try to activate the switch inside my car, it will go into "Leave Car" mode, so I will have to activate it again in order to go into "Enter Car" mode. I don't know if I am clear enough.
So I tried solving the issue with a Tasker task, but even if NFC Task Launcher says that it is launching the task, it never does anything from Tasker.
I tried uninstalling both apps, but still the same.
Of course I allowed external apps access with Tasker.
Could you help me please ?

Having this on a tag would create a REALLY big tag as you're storing the fill switch text and a few bytes for the additional command structure. I could make something like reset *all* switch tags as an action or a manual button in the app itself. This would take up far less space, but it would be more of a shotgun solution. This is actually a valid point and an issue I've run into myself. A new available task should be "reset switch X to mode 1/2". So if you do use the task in your house it resets the car task.
I think its not an option right now. Maybe its in the works. But that is not possible with NFC Task Launcher itself right ?
Yeah, not right now.I think its not an option right now. Maybe its in the works.
Thank you for your answer. After reading you, I tried that. First of all I didn't lose my profiles (is this normal ? Even if I chose to erase all datas from the app before removing it). Unfortunately it seems that NFC Task Launcher is now unable to write on tags...For Tasker:
Tasker must be installed first, then NFC Task Launcher. External access must be enabled in Tasker. All that I do with Tasker is use the shared class from Tasker and tell it "Start Task with name of NAME". It must handle everything else. I can guarantee that the intent is being sent that says "Start this task".
If it is disabled, does it mean that it never reset ?Currently switch tags reset after 12 hours back to their initial state. This is a setting in the next release that can be enabled or disabled (it is disabled by default).
Right - it will always operate on a 1-2-1-2 basis.Thank you for your answer. After reading you, I tried that. First of all I didn't lose my profiles (is this normal ? When I am invited to put my phone against a tag and I do it, nothing happens except the sound playing. Reading a tag works fine though.
EDIT : I am sorry. I just rebooted the phone and it works perfectly now.
Thank you very much !
If it is disabled, does it mean that it never reset ?
Have you tried starting a music app and then using the Start/Stop media playback command?Does anyone know of a music player app I can kick off with task launcher that will auto play music when started ?
Currently I'm using media start/stop but it always starts the default music app on my S3.
This app has a bug in that it "forgets" its in shuffle mode, so I still need to access the phone and make it run in shuffle.
I've been looking for a music app that has an activity to make it play, but I can't fine one.
