hi @paphonb I am trying your great app also in android Q beta 3 on my pixel 3, and it works fine for some time, but after a while it stops and I get the stock navbar back.
if from the app I toggle custom navbar off and on again, the app starts to work again for some time, and then after a while stops again.. can I grab any log for you to investigate, if interested, or I should just wait official android Q to get support?

i joined beta group in play store but the app didn't update, so I think I am on latest version available.

tia and either way :fingers-crossed:

Samsung Galaxy S9
I cant change navbar theme in my Galaxy S9 with custom navigation bar. Can someone help me?

I just tested it on my Galaxy S9 (android 9) using the adb method (i'm not rooted) and it worked flawlessy.
Just installed the adb 1.4.3 kit on my windows PC, connected the phone in debug mode, started the adb shell and issued the command explained on the app page and... done.

:confused:I noticed that after the reboot of the phone there is a short time (4 to 5 seconds) during which the original navigation bar appears before being replaced by the modified one.
Do you have any advice or ideas so that the customized bar appears immediately (or at least that the appearance time of the original bar is as short as possible)?

Custom Navigation Bar 1.0.0c app partially works with LG G5 RS988, USA Unlocked and Lineage OS 15.1 (20190516) described in thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g5/development/rom-unofficial-lineageos-15-1-g5-t3806842 .

My bug report:
  • When an app changes the Navigation Bar color (and consequently invert the color of the normal buttons), buttons added by the Custom Navigation Bar app remain their original, unchanged color. The added buttons may also be invisible when the Navigation bar becomes the same color as the Custom Navigation Bar app added buttons.
  • If "Rotate suggestion" is enabled, app crashes and the rotate suggestion is no longer works, but the added Navigation Bar buttons remain.
  • If Extra button "Power button" is used (I tested it on "Extra left button"), the power menu is displayed an extra time and in succession if it is invoke via the added button (by long pressing it). My impression is that the extra action is something also done in general for the added buttons, but is very noticeable when invoking the power menu.

@paphonb the position of the back button is different in portrait vs landscape orientation on my Pixel 3a. Is this a known bug?

The latest beta release (0.5.0) will include Tasker event plugin, which allows you to trigger Tasker event when pressing button.
This is a heavily requested feature, so I will post a tutorial here about how to use it.

    1. Configure a custom button as you would, but this time, set button type to "Tasker event" instead of "Keycode".
    2. Open tasker and press add in profiles tab
    3. Select "Event"
    4. Select Plugin -> Custom Navigation Bar
    5. Click on pencil icon to edit event
    6. Select the profile you have the button set up. If you set up the button you want in "Navigation bar" section of the app, select "None"
    7. Select the button that you have set up. If the option is greyed out, check if you done step 1 correctly
    8. Save the event and add an action for that tasker profile.

    Note:
When pressing the button first time, if a dialog pops up, select "Custom Navigation Bar" and press "Always"

But remember, this is a large feature that requires many changes in the application code base. It might be buggy or breaks something.
And thanks for all your kind supports. :)

Kindly write the command here which we need to give to grant permission, tried both terminal emulator and adb, but unable to do it,

    I'm guessing it's this:

adb shell pm grant xyz.paphonb.systemuituner android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS

Thanks for making this app, OP. Check out my series of tutorials for potential uses of this: https://www.xda-developers.com/tag/android-o/

As for how to add custom icons, I figured it out here: https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-add-custom-icons-to-the-navigation-bar-in-android-o/ and OP implemented it in his app ;)

I've posted an article about this here: https://www.xda-developers.com/nav-...ck-nougat-all-along-and-it-never-needed-root/

Prepare to get a lot of attention towards your app in the morning when the blog mill starts rolling ;)
