UPDATE: v2.0_Alpha is up!
![]()
Hi everyone!
If you happen to be a fan of split-window mode in Android Nougat, there is a good chance that may find this nifty tools App that I have been working on - Parallel Windows for Nougat (Android 7.0 Nougat exclusive)
What it does? 3 things as of now:
#1 Provide an onscreen shortcut to toggle split-screen
#2 Quickly launch any new App in split-screen mode through a floating mini App drawer.
#3 Mirror an App!

YES! You can run two Windows of an App, two windows of almost any App on a phone but MANY windows of an App on tablet, as seen on the screenshots above.
The set of tools can be accessed by swiping from right edge of the screen, couple of screenshots of the App:

Here is a video demo (please note that it's on an emulator, expect some lags here and there.) In case you're only interested in checking out how the mirroring of App works, jump to 03:14 in the video. And if anybody can shoot a quality video, please do and upload to this thread.
Please subscribe, share the link of this thread with your Nexus friends (running Android Nougat.)
Thank you for going through my post.

What's changed/new in v2.1_Alpha:
* The white background of "RECENT ACTIVITY" panel is now toned down.
* Recent activity removes Apps which are uninstalled.
* Added/changed UI texts wherever needed.
What's changed/new in v2.0_Alpha:
* Significant improvement in the UI controls, you should feel everything super snappy now.
* App drawer now supports fast scrolling.
* You can now adjust the placement of the hotspot to trigger Parallel Windows side bar - length, width, location (up/down/left/right.)
* A new panel is now available, 'RECENT ACTIVITY' - whichever App you launch/mirror using Parallel Windows, goes here. This panel will have more additions in future - shortcut to launch multiple Apps, widgets etc.
What's changed/new in v1.2_Alpha:
* The App is now battery ready - uses CPU for only the few seconds when you interact with it.
What's changed/new in v1.1_Alpha:
* The floating App drawer should be super responsive now.
* After swiping in left the tools menu, you can tap anywhere on the screen to exit (earlier you had to swipe back to the right.)
* Added quick sharing option.
Will be fixed in next update.Manually install an apk. Try to tap install button. Nothing happens due to the screen overlay.
Thanks. Thanks for this app. I saw it on the playstore and I found it very interesting. I'm not gonna give it a lot of use, because I don't need to mirror apps, but I thinks it's a great work. Congratulations and thanks, it works perfectly!![]()
Not working with Chrome Canary, it kinda works with the Youtube app but if you watch the vid in fullscreen, the other window will just have black screen. (Device: Xiaomi Redmi Note 3/Slim7)
Unfortunately, I can't control the behaviour of the App, if the App changes its function.Same here on my Nexus 6P
Thanks.Great job!! Works perfect
Some Android 7.0+ ROMs do not have support for quick tiles, so trying to avoid it at the moment.fantastic! It would be a good idea to add a shortcut on the toggle bar to avoid using the gesture ...
Could you elaborate? If you meant having the bottom/top screen as a dashboard for quick switching apps etc, well it's possible but covering half the screen isn't a great idea.Really like this app, just wondering if this could be used like the second screen on the HTC U ultra

Awesome! Thanks!I was waiting to use this app since long (bcoz before I was on M ROM). Recently switched to Lineage based N ROM and started using this.
What I can say is 'Great work by developer'
By default, I don't have multi window in my mobile. But with this app, I can use now.
Thank you dev for the awesome app![]()
You're not able to swipe at the hotspot? May be increase its thickness to max and do a slow swipe just to see if it works. It's not responding at all with any app on my phone, I am using Infinix Note 3 Pro operating a Nought7. Well, after installing and giving it all the permission, the furthest I can get is adjusting the hotspot configuration.... when I try handling the adjusted floating hotspot, I don't get any significant action. Naturally, my phone foes support split screen but I wish to appreciate what your app has to offer. offer. Advise me.

It's still in the google play store. Link in OPAny chance you can offer a link to the APK... google seems to have removed it from the play store, and i dont trust those third party apk mirror backup sites. Also, does this app allow two different save sessions of the same app? for instance, i would not only like to run the same app, but i would like it's data folder to save separate config files for the app, that way each copy of the app has it's own setup when i open them. Awesome, Thanks!
It's there for me. Is it still not showing for you? It's not in play store anymore.. Can we have a link to download it? Thanks in advance.
