i am happy to confirm that the apk on post #415 solved the problem with fullscreen video...

very good thanks a lot

on a side note, i did adb backup and adb restore on the app but i cannot get my settings back..
it is not a major issue, just a few bookmarks which i can for sure re-add manually.
but if you have any suggestion please feel free to let me know (i have de.baumann.browser.apk and de.baumann.browser.backup on my desktop...)

Hi,

since, I'm going camping for a few days, I released an update with the latest fixes. It will be released on F-Droid and PlayStore (de.foss.browser -> new app). Attached is the actual debug-apk. Fell free to test and report.

would it be possible to ask also for a feature implementation?

i think it would be useful to have a quick way to refresh the current web page
maybe with a swipe down when on top of the page...

alternatively I see that in gestures i can set actions for swipe on toolbar
but i cannot see a refresh/update page

maybe I am just missing something
or maybe it is just something that is not needed for the majority of people
just dropping here the idea, feel free to tell me it makes no sense...

@Gaukler_Faun As most of the German privacy minded Android users you're certainly aware of Mike Kuketz.
Unless you're already aware he's just recently reviewed your FOSS Browser and provided his findings here (in German language). Mike's conclusion (translated by https://www.deepl.com/translator):

Overall, the FOSS browser leaves a privacy-friendly impression and there is really nothing to criticise - except perhaps the GitHub page of the project as the start page. But that would be really petty.

The FOSS Browser doesn't phone home, comes with tracking and ad protection already and is compact/clearly designed. All in all, a great browser for the Android platform.

Congratulations! Really well done - and just proceed!

I downloaded from F Droid and could not get past the Git Hub page(s).......I could not see anywhere to type in a web address - no on screen keyboard?

I'm testing your browser. And unfortunately I have found a bug right away. If you open a blank page (about:blank) and hit 'bookmark', the app crashes immediatelly.

And what I really want, is a possibility to keep the Desktop View between restarts.

Hi,

some time passed since I was active here. But I had to do a lot at work. But in the background development went on and I'm proud to announce an update.

With this update FOSS Browser switches to profile based privacy settings. This is more reliable for using and easier to code. Please check the settings. If you install this update all your whitelists will get lost. All other entries (entries on start site, bookmarks, history, all other settings) will remain.

Some nice and often requested features are implemented: tab restoring, DRM-playback and webRTC-support.

The update will arrive soon on F-Droid. Attached is the debug version. You can always download latest debug-version at:
