I mean this with the utmost respect and gratefulness to erlveryone involved. I know this is relatively in its infancy but is there a road map. Goal, even if unknown when, to allow easier updating?

Or at least export and import the settings we select? I am always bound to miss one as I update everyone in my famines phone and every setting.

Again, not complaining, not criticizing, just curious.

Not sure if it was a bug or issue on my end (or if it was added but I can now install the newly packed APk over top the old one. It used to fail. Sweet.

Edit: Yup something changed. I need to go back and look at my versions but I was able to update all but two devices. Those two missed an updated build in the meantime.

Hi everyone, I have a problem maybe you can enlight me. I can't get a proper YouTube music revanced, rooted or non rooted. I used the 39.52 version as recommended, it works well before patched, but then I patches it, impossible to launch the APK. I installed a custom ROM (PE extended), do you think it has something to do with it?

Did u followed the steps at the OP? Do you have installed vanced microG?

Howdy, I'm having some issues with ReVanced Extended. I've tried building my own APK using the ReVanced Manager, as well as using the APK provided by Retrial, and often I just can't get videos to play. Either they never load, or the first couple of seconds will load and then it stops.

Is there some setting I need to enable/disable to fix this?

I'm running Android 12 on an ASUS ROG Phone 3, not rooted.

Sounds like google has blacklisted your account. Try to use another one, best would be a brand account.

this is incorrect its not a blacklist but a staged rollout of detections for microG and spoofed apk names
eventually anybody not rooted won't be-able to use it. unless we figure out how google is getting the apk-name/signature
if it was a account ban/blacklist it would affect the stock youtube app which it doesn't

congratulations @Retrial for building your last apk with the VP9 codec included

1440p and 2160p/60 FPS videos are working flawlessly now on my old Note 8 thanks to this patch!

I would like to ask if you can build an apk for us old S8+/Note 8 users which has also the HDR patch included

I saw on revanced telegram channel a printscreen which has also this option that could be enabled during the patch, i attach the photo with the screen capture for you to see, thanks!

LE : I see that Android patcher vers. 0.0.54 doesn't have the option for the VP9 patch, I would have liked to try to patch the original YT system app as root so that I don't need to use microG... I also tested the last magisk version for root users but it also doesn't have the VP9 option inside the settings...
this means, as a root user, I'm restricted only to your apk's together with microG to have this VP9 option enabled?

Issue: ReVanced uninstalling after soft reboot

Hi,



I'm successfully using the installation for root from https://github.com/j-hc/revanced-magisk-module
Powering off and on or restarting my smartphone (Pocophone F1 from Xiaomi, running Android 9 with stock ROM) has no impact at all, Revanced is still working properly after that.

But there is an annoying issue: When I perform a soft reboot, ReVanced is uninstalling!

Soft rebooting is essential to me, as I'm using "CustoMIUIzer" frequently which requires a soft reboot each time an option has been changed.

You can also test it by yourself by soft rebooting as SU with the shell command "killall system_server".

Could someone please try to find a solution for this problem?

Hi,

I am not sure which specific patch you want to be included. Every "Recommended" patch is included in both Official ReVanced and ReVanced Extended.

VP9 is only included at Extended as far I know, Magisk Module is built with Official Patches not Extended and so you can't find VP9.

Also VP9 patch for Extended, I think it's moved to experimental patches because for some people with Android 13 VP9 is not working. To enable experimental patches you have to go to Settings of Manger turn it on there, then restart the Manager.

    I use the "default" - "recommended" patches and I excluded only what I wrote in the info of each app in post #2.
    • 🩹Patches Used: All Recommended, except Custom Branding (because it has ugly icon), Debugging, Premium Heading.
    These specific patches you mentioned, are not selected by the "default-recommended" button.
    If you think they should be included in the default selection button or they missed them by mistake in the recent versions, open an issue on the GitHub of ReVanced or contact them in their Discord.
    However, I patched it again included the patches: "export-all-activities" and "remove-player-button-background". Check Android File Host here or post #2 the .zip with date (28-05-2023) and let me know.

    The reason why Vanced took a DMCA Takedown was because of the icon as far as I know.
    Also, I just use what the patches have, I am not gonna mess to change the icons to something different. :p

    Why if other of us who use RV for almost a year or so like the new RV icon they put to the source on GitHub?
    Retrial builds from the RV source, not developing his own

    If you want another icon or so, you can branch the source and build yourself with the assets you like

    Or you can discuss directly with RV developers

    As I said Instagram has issue with the latest patches so that's why it's failed. It's already reported to ReVanced Team.

    For users who want a stable "ReVanced Extended" magisk module:

    I forked the repo of J-hc (in fact I made a new fork right now) who only builds "Revanced" modules but he provides a good and stable module, see the following features:

    - Doesnt require a reboot after flashing
    - Doesnt fail to mount
    - Reports errors when they happen
    - Supports kernelsu
    - Has more checks for possible incompatibilities
    - Written in clean bash

    This is better than some of the forks of the ReVanced Extended modules you'll find on GitHub.

    So this is ReVanced Extended in a stable module for rooted users.
    I also build the corresponding APK for both, rooted and non rooted users.

    For unrooted devices don't forget to install Vanced MicroG
    or the new mMicroG by Inotia00!

    You get daily updates in magisk (I may change this in the future).
    if there are needs for other APK's (YT Music or else) there'll be no problem to build them too.

    So with the permission of @Retrial, here's an alternative to the existing RVEX magisk modules.
    The APK's should be almost similar to the ones by @Retrial so you can stay with his ones.
    As mine are signed with a different key stay with the one or the other to be able to update!

    Nothing is outdated. Everything is up to date. Other apks beside youtube getting update when needed. For example if new patches doesn't have anything about twitter, reddit etc. i will not patch them again for no reason.

    2. Optional If you have installed Official Stock YouTube app: Uninstall it if possible or Go to your Settings > Apps > Find YouTube and Select it > Choose Disable > Click Storage > Clear Cache/Data > Uninstall Updates.
    3. Download Vanced microG (latest version) + ReVanced Manager (latest version) [ONLY Arm64 devices] + Recommended Official YouTube Version 18.19.35 (Android 8.0+) [Note: Do NOT download BUNDLE version].
    4. Install Vanced microG + ReVanced Manager. (Do NOT install youtube.apk you previously downloaded)
    5. Open ReVanced Manager and Check if your device is compatible with ReVanced Manager here. [Sort By New]. If it's compatible proceeded.
    6. Go to Settings at the bottom right > Scroll down a bit > Click and enable the Experimental Patches support (Not the Universal).
    7. Go to the Patcher Tab and Choose the section "Select an application".
    8. Click the "Storage" icon on the bottom right corner and select the .apk of Official YouTube which you previously downloaded.
    9. Select the "Recommended patches" box at top left and Patch. [Recommended to deselect Debug patch as it may lead to performance degradation]
    10. The process will start, wait to finish.

    2. Remove these specific directories related with ReVanced or Vanced if you used them before. (Check from post #246 why)
    3. Reboot the device.
    4. Download *Vanced microG (latest version) + ReVanced Manager (latest version) [ONLY Arm64 devices] + Recommended Official YouTube Version 18.19.35 (Android 8.0+) [Note: Do NOT download BUNDLE version].
    5. Install ReVanced Manager + the Official YouTube App you previously downloaded.
    6. *Optional [Skip this step if none of these match to your case] Install Vanced microG if ur ROM does not come with GMS (Google Mobile Services) by default for example if you are using LineageOS without GApps or if you are using Huawei devices which doesn't have GMS.
    7. Open ReVanced Manager and grant root permission via Magisk.
    8. Check if your device is compatible with ReVanced Manager here. [Sort By New] If it's compatible proceeded.
    9. Go to Patcher Tab and Choose the section "Select an application".
    10. Select the Official YouTube app which you previously installed.
    11. Select the "Recommended patches" box at top left and Patch. [Exclude MicroG support/Music MicroG Support and Debug patches]

    1. Remove all YouTube related modules and apps, if you have any installed.
    2. Remove these specific directories related with ReVanced or Vanced if you used them before. (Check from post #246 why)
    3. Reboot the device.
    4. Download latest *Vanced microG (latest version) + ReVanced Manager v1.2.0 [ONLY Arm64 devices] + Recommonded Official YouTube version 18.17.43 (Android 8.0+) [Note: Do NOT download BUNDLE version].
    5. Install ReVanced Manager + the Offcial YouTube app you previously downloaded.
    6. *Optional [Skip this step if none of these match to your case] Install Vanced microG if ur ROM does not come with GMS (Google Mobile Services) by default for example if you are using LineageOS without GApps or if you are using Huawei devices which doesn't have GMS.
    7. Open ReVanced Manager and grant root permission via Magisk.
    8. Check if your device is compatible with ReVanced Manager here. [Sort By New] If it's compatible proceeded.
    9. Go to Settings > Sources > and Change both names (patches organization & integration organization) from revanced to inotia00. [Screenshot]
    10. Close the app ReVanced Manager completely. (Restart of the app needed)
    11. Open ReVanced Manager again.
    12. Go to Patcher Tab and Choose the section "Select an application".
    13. Select the Official YouTube app which you previously installed.
    14. Select the "Recommended patches" box at top left and press Patch. [Recommended to read this] [ReVanced Extended Custom Icon List and List #2]
    15. Optional if you want to export the patched .apk (app) you made, after finish the patching and before you install it, press the 3-dots menu in the top right corner and export it.
    16. Select "Install as Root" when finish the process with patches.
    17. While you installing the app and when you first open the app, you MAY get a warn from play store. Press ignore and then press -do not send-. It's safe don't worry about what play store says.
    18. Install mindetach or Detach3 Magisk module or TeMeFI, to detach YouTube or other apps from updating by Play Store. [Read this]
    19. To set the app as default: Go to App info > Open by default > Open supported links, "On" > Supported web addresses > Turn them all "On". [For general devices check this] [If you are using MIUI and you have trouble to do it, check this] [If you still have issues check this and this]

    ReVanced Manager using a keystore file to sign the apk, if you erased all data of the manager the keystore would be deleted too, so you need to remove the old revanced apk to update.

    Q: What is mMicroG?

    A: Check here and here.

    Q: When I open ReVanced there is an empty black/white screen, what can I do?

    A:
    • Go to Device Setttings > Apps
    • Find and Uninstall everything related to Vanced/ReVanced such as Vanced MicroG / Vanced / ReVanced etc.
    • Rebuilt with the latest patches/versions or Download and install the latest versions for Vanced MicroG & ReVanced or ReVanced Extended from the post #2.
    • Login to revanced via microg.
    • Check again.

    Q: While I login with my account I get the message "please check your network connection".

    A:
    • Go to Device Setttings > Apps
    • Find and Uninstall everything related to Vanced/ReVanced such as Vanced MicroG / Vanced / ReVanced etc.

    Q: I have buffering/playback issues, what can I do?

    A: In ReVanced Manager, for ReVanced include the patch "spoof-signature-verification" and for ReVanced Extended the patch "protobuf-spoof".
    After installing the app in ReVanced you can find the toogle Enable spoof signature patch at Misc settings and in ReVanced Extended the protobuf-spoof patch at Miscellaneous settings too. If you are using my ready apks update to the latest version of ReVanced or ReVanced Extended which I include these patches (but you need to enable them manually). Should be fixed, check here and here.

    Q: I have Huawei device and ReVanced force close after 1min, what can I do?

    A: Check this.

    Q: I have history in search which I didn't search for any of these, also I have search history off. Any reason why this is happening? It won't show the actual search I do, these are just random things or trending things I guess?

    A: Check here. Extended has added a patch "hide search terms" which can be enabled in Extended Settings > General > Hide search term suggestion.

    Q: How to set ReVanced as default app for youtube links?

    A: Go to App info > Set as default > Open supported links, "On" > Supported web addresses > Turn them all "On".
    For general devices check this. If you are using MIUI and you have trouble to set it as default app for youtube links, check this. If you still have issues check this and this.

    Q: I've set ReVanced to open youtube links but videos open minimized with a glitch.

    A: You need to be logged in to ReVanced to open the YouTube links normally when you set it as default youtube app. You can read more about the issue I had here (in the Official Discord of ReVanced). This is also happening in Official YouTube so it's not a bug of ReVanced or Extended. If you don't wanna use your personal Gmail to connect to ReVanced via microG then just create a new one and use it only for it.

    Q: I have History/Search issues what to do?

    A: Check your dns or ad-blocker and whitelist the following domains: "s.youtube.com", "video-stats.l.google.com" and "video-stats.video.google.com." If you use VPN try to turn it off.

    Q: How can I update ReVanced?

    A: Check this.

    Q: How can I backup my ReVanced Settings?

    A: Currently on ReVanced is not possible to do that. On ReVanced Extended there is an option to Import/Export the settings which can be found at Miscellenous settings.
    If you are using my ready apks or you are using ReVanced Manager with the same keystore you patched before, you can just use the new apk over the current you have installed and it will update without losing your settings. Read more about how to update your app without losing your settings     here.

    Q: What is QUIC protocol setting in ReVanced Extended?

    A: Check here. You can enable this option at Miscellanous settings.

    Q: What is VP9 Codec in ReVanced Extended and should I enable it?

    Q: What is "change homepage" patch in ReVanced Extended?

    ⚠️Extended updates may slow down from my side unless it's something "critical" (perhaps weekly schedule). If you didn't noticed the last 3 updates released into a single day, with the latest late at night that's why I uploaded now.     My opinion is, activity by inotia00 is a good thing, untested multiple everyday releases don't have any sense tho. A beta repo so any user who want to test and patch with these "beta patches" before merged to the "stable" may be one solution.
