hi all,
i used this app for several weeks on galaxy s5 (klte) with latest lineageos, thank you for it, and i think that there are some things that i did not really like at the method it uses, but i think i also found a better method
things i did not really like, the app is great, just the method:
1. it seems to loose some bit depth in color or even grays, it is most visible in gradients, i think it is the effect called banding
2. it uses some ram and processing power as it have a process continuously running in background and with this device it sometimes gets closed on more intense games (brightness jumps up when it closes)
3. it does seem to use more batery for me, i think more visible is with more agressive settings (higher system brightness)
my method, which i am using right now is to equally adjust the 3 sliders from color calibration page, settings>display>live display>color calibration
this is done instead of filter overlay, the rest of the method remains the same, adjusting the system brightness above problematic level
the advantage is that there seem to be no color bit loosing, nothing staying in ram, maybe even the battery usage seems better, simpler method if someone would make an app for it
the inconvenient is that it is not so easy accesible and there are 3 sliders instead of one
it would be really nice if someone could make an app with just one slider like pwmfree, that would adjust all 3 sliders from color calibration page simultaneously (of corse mantaining the proportion, i have them at the same level but maybe someone have calibration values, so it would also be nice not to loose the color calibration function)
extra features, not essential:
-maybe add it also to status bar under the default one
-or maybe even replace the default one
-of corse auto brightness could be also nice altough i personally do not use it often
-widgets, shortcuts with presets, one click certain value is set, or added/reduced
-default including it in lineageos would be a dream etc.
should i make a separate thread for this?
so, anyone? thank you all
