Open Developer Settings and search for "glpreview". You will find 3 parameters which need to be unmarked. GL Preview reduces resolution quality on the viewfinder, but helps save battery because it needs significantly less power to render the live frames coming from the camera sensors.
A useful sidenote: GL Preview can be quite useful if enabled for Night Sight only.

Enabling camera.cuttle.glpreview and disabling camera.pck_large_yuv from Developer Settings, will force viewfinder brightness to be adjusted dynamically based on the amount of light. This improves visibility especially in dark lighting conditions where you're usually forced to increase display brightness manually.

@Arnova8G2 Thank you again for your amazing work!

Using the ruler package with a Snapdragon S21 Ultra:

The aux lenses are working properly, but the Auxillary Config is only allowing for three back cameras numbers and not all four lenses. Specifically, the 0.5x, 1x and 10x lenses are enabled by default, the 3x lens is not available.

Is it possible to enable the 3x lens (Camera ID 52) as well?
Hi, is the front facing camera working? I'm using S20+, the front isn't working for me. Also, do u have any samples from your cameras?

It seems that I have managed to solve it. I have made a copy of my configuration in xml, in the change in "pref_list_camera_key" the value 21 for 52 and restored the xml and takes the photos with the telephoto lens with hdr ++ without forcing close the app.
hi, I am s20 fe 5g user and have same problem with telelens as well. would you please give me your edited xml? I try many but doesn't work out at all. Thanks!

I haven't tweaked it at all other than the fix mentioned. But all 3 cameras should work on the Fe 5g. Looks fairly good before any tweaking other than the viewfinder not being very sharp. Samsung s20 Fe working cams

it works well! Thank you very much! yeah, before any tweaking, image was satisfied to me though. for the viewfinder blurring, you might need to turn off "camera .glpreview" in the development setting. try it. btw, s20 fe is very competent, it's a good phone for taking pictures!

Yes that setting did it thanks!

Main cam and telephoto are really good. The ultra wide needs some work though.

I noticed that the ultrawide has grid dots in dark areas, especially in low light, in daytime no issue though. I've been tweaking the noise profile config for ultrawide lens. the "OV13855" might be helpful.

That noise profile is really bad on mine. I have an international snapdragon version which might cause some variations. For mine in low light the problem is the colors are really washed out. I have increased saturation to 3.000 which helps a little. If I go higher it looks odd in daylight so I've kind of given up on indoor photos with the ultra wide and will stick to outdoor only. It doesn't seem so bad outside. None of the AWB options seem to do anything for mine. It seems to be a pretty weak ultra wide cam in general unless mine is defective. My S10 ultrawide is much better.

On the main and tele I don't like the default saturation levels being typical over saturated samsung so reduced those a bit. 0.625 for the main and 0.875 for the tele. Haven't really felt the need to tweak anything else. So thumbs up to the developers. Photos are a little overexposed so looking for a way to drop that down a little.

my device is us unlocked 5g version. not sure what happened with your ultrawide lens. I turned off all of configs and the results were really good even the ultrawide, never encounter washed out sort of problem.

you might need to test EVERY setting but once at a time. try to reset all configs to default and starting with a noise profile from the top to the end. in my experience from previous gcam tweaking, washed out can be fixed by a different noise profile, it's unlikely fixing by tweaking parameters with a wrong noise profile. good luck!

The saturation issue you are experiencing in low light is due to a problem with AWB Off. Although it is not a consistent issue, it does occur occasionally. In order to fix this, all you have to do is simply turn on Google AWB by enabling the AWB On button from drop-down menu. But first make sure to follow these steps: open GCam settings > Advanced > AWB Config > Enable AWB Mode toggle and select the appropriate white-balance models for your back and front cameras. Enabling the AWB Mode toggle will activate the AWB Off/On buttons in the drop-down menu. Now you will be able to turn AWB Off and On (will deactivate or activate the white-balance models set in AWB Config) whenever needed. I recommend using AWB Off in good light and AWB On in low light.

Also do know that saturation on 8.1 version is higher by default compared to previous 7.x and 6.x versions due to the new Google lib. To match the saturation level of previous GCam versions, simply set Saturation to 0.750 in Ram Patcher.

The slight overexposure issue you are experiencing can be fixed by following these steps: Open GCam settings > Advanced > Ram Patcher > Dehazed should be set between 0.875 and 1.375 (try and see which value produces the best result). Alternatively you can try the same value for HDR_overall_lightness and Shadow/Light intensity, and you can also limit Max ISO to 1000.

Use HDR+ Enhanced with Medium quality (make sure Image Quality is enabled in drop-down menu: open Developer Settings and search for camera.optbar.frame_enabled > must be marked).

Hi, can somebody tell me what is the difference between custom lib iso files and wich one is better?
The library is responsible for image processing and the Ram Patcher allows you to control specific parameters within that library that's being used. By default, GCam is using the stock Google lib which is tuned to process images in a certain way. Using a custom lib instead will affect image processing differently, so naturally your photos will have a different look.

I've made this 2 different xmls for the Poco X3 NFC if you want to try them, they use a custom lib, I've noted that Arnova works better with a lib so I've tried some of them and chosen my favorite, libultra.so. Decompress the zip file with the lib and place it wherever you want and load the xlm and from the menu in advanced options in the last line you'll see custom lib config so load the lib and you'll see that the pictures are much more better. The final results are excellent and maybe they work on other phones.

    Hello, installed last version of this gcam mode on my Poco X3 Nfc (official pixel experience rom). Everything is ok except the front camera's video recording. It's just freeze with black screen when choosing video recording mode with front facing camera. Any solutions? Thanks
    Disable EIS in configuration to use front camera video and remember to enable it after, maybe it works; the problem must be the EISV2 stream config for video but that's the best config to get good and stable video.

    Open GCam Developer Settings and enable camera.p20_lens_setup. This should allow you to use video mode on front camera even if EIS is enabled on back camera. Otherwise you must set Video stream config to OFF.

    hi arnova, I have a redmi note 8 pro .........
    can you logcat, seems same problem as samsungs no raw format on front cam

    Hello, I tried on Mi 11 which is "activated" like u said but it still does not work like any other gcam on this phone.. any tips? maybe I need to turn on something in dev options etc. to make it work. thanks in advance!
    it is recently that I activated this device, I found a tester to check to correct these bugs

    OEM problem or you have to use stock cam package name for all AUX and for better use

    Hi @Arnova8G2,

    Long time I didn't talk to you.
    Could you check my thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...de-cam-not-shooting-libgcastartup-so.4254053/) and let me know if it's feasible to include this fix on your next releases ?
    yes it's true that it's been a long time, custom lib can already help you, I would add a toggle for the activated

    Using an unlocked Snapdragon S21 Ultra here. Does the viewfinder freeze after a few seconds for you? I can tap a different lens/zoom to get it working again, but it freezes again after a bit.

    Also what .XML should I start with for this device?
    s21 users activate stream config and use EIS2 or EIS3 for the modes where it freezes

    any chance for adding 3rd party gallery support? Because unfortunately that's a show-stopper for me.
    search in dev> use google photo and uncheck but must install a gallery, eg for oneplus is not detected

    It doesn't work on OnePlus Nord and for some reason 1x is the wide angle while as the others don't work. What is the fix?
    on OnePlus Nord with android 11 none works except wide, but android 10 all aux works perfectly

    I've been using the above for about a couple weeks now on my 8T and it's 😙👌

    Here is my OP8T basic multicam setup config for Arnova's Stable V6 GCam 8.1.101 (Snap) release, if anyone wants to use it as a base for others. I've also uploaded a bit of a more advanced setup @Arnova8G2 and myself worked out, which is what I use and has all of my usual features setup.🤘

    Of note to others making/using configs:

    1) Default GID 7 definitely seems bad for noise on 8T Wide. I tried all values 0 to 10. Arnova had Main 0 and Wide 4 in a previous test build and these seem to work well, so that's what I went with.

    2) All Files Storage Permission is needed for GCam to function due to the config system, but it doesn't ask for it, so for best experience set it manually before first run and disable permissions auto-revoking.

    3) Wide Slowmo crashes out immediately on at least 8T and 7T, seems no way around it at present.

    4) Subject tracking and manual focus don't work on Wide, this also seems long-standing, so not sure if it's possible.

    Enjoy! 🤠
    here is an xml pixel5 mod for 8t,
    optimized for topshot
    add google stabilizer
    and slowmotion that works

    I had some issues. The viewfinder is somewhat blurry and focusing using touch focus is kind of hard. My device is redmi note 9 pro (joyeuse)
    Open Developer Settings and search for "glpreview". You will find 3 parameters which need to be unmarked. GL Preview reduces resolution quality on the viewfinder, but helps save battery because it needs significantly less power to render the live frames coming from the camera sensors.

    Enjoy! 🤠

    Edit (2021-04-01): Turns out the release APK build above appears to zoom the Wide camera initially when switched to, at least on 8T. Simply zoom out again after switching to Wide for now, while @Arnova8G2 is working on a fix!

    I've uploaded new tweaked versions of my configs, switching to better GIDs - Main 4 and Wide 6 (thanks SixArmedPriest), enabling Video Stabilization options and Auto-Night Sight (thanks Arnova8G2), and improving viewfinder picture quality (thanks archesolus).

    Edit 2 (2021-04-02): Added a OnePlus 7T Advanced MultiCam Setup config with working Sabre on Tele. 👍

    Google Camera Port
    by @Arnova8G2

    This is a support thread for apks created by Arnova8G2. Here you'll find basic instructions on how to use this port and how to properly report bugs.

    Compatibility:
    - The camera2 api needs to be enabled;
    - Most versions only work on Snapdragon SoCs, but some work on Kirin and Exynos processors;
    - 64 bit ROMs are a requirement;
    - Doesn't work on phones without RAW support (eg: some Sony devices);
    - Newer versions may work only on new Android versions. Old versions might be better for old Android versions;

    Known issues:
    - FAQs and troubleshooting

    - Slow motion is broken on some phones and Android versions;
    - Some devices have issues with their front cameras (eg: OnePlus 3/3T, 5/5T). You might have to install a fix (if available for your phone) or disable HDR+ on the front camera (setting only available on some apks);
    - Features on new Google Camera versions may take some time to be ported;

    How to report bugs:
    If possible, post on a thread for your phone (check this list or your phone's forum) or here if you can't find a thread for your phone. Please describe the issue and give details about your setup:

    - Phone, ROM, any fixes installed;
    - Name of the apk you're using;
    - Screenshots or video recordings of the bug if you're able to;
    - A logcat if there's a crash (How to save a logcat: video guide, advanced guide);
    - Steps to reproduce the bug/crash;
    - Mention @Arnova8G2 username;

    - Your report will be ignored if no logs or a good explanation is provided.
    - Arnova8G2 will do his best to fix bugs, but keep in mind that this is a free port and he also has his personal life.

    Example of a report:
    @Arnova8G2 Portrait mode crashes on my OnePlus 3 running LineageOS 15.1 (Android 8.1). I'm using "GCam_Pixel3Mod_1.1_build.6.1.013.apk".
