@Arnova8G2 AUX camera buttons on my OnePlus 7 Pro running DotOS 5.1.3 (Android 11). I'm using "Snap_GCam_6.210329.0153build-8.1.101.apk".
To reproduce, open the camera, notice no aux cam buttons, changing aux settings does not fix either. Some other Gcam 8 and 7 versions work fine with the aux cameras, but not this one - i want to use this one though, because it is the only gcam 8 that will work with slo-mo at all on my phone (i have tried with the XML, without the XML, with the magisk module for aux cams/camera quality and without it, but no luck) (version that works and I'm currently using is "GCam_8.1.101_Wichaya_V1.4") (it also worked fine on oxygen OS, using the same apk even without root)

So I know this is probably never going to be answered, but is there a certain port of Gcam for the blu v50? I configured some of the settings and eventually got the video mode to work, but night mode, and normal picture mode will not work. It gets stuck at a black screen. Video works fine. If you can help me somehow, contact me at [email protected]

Thank you!

Hi, first download Camera2probe app from Play store and check the hardware level in it - it should be Level 3 for complete gcam support. If it's Full then some functions might not work. If it's Limited gcam will not work.
Also you can try other gcam ports like Bsg etc. which you can find here https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/

I've tried installing it (latest version and many other versions from other devs) on a Galaxy A01 but it won't install, I'm not sure why. I checked Camera Probe and I have Level 3 on it and everything.
Probe report: https://s.airbeat.com/s/JFbT
Info about both cameras and CPU/GPU attached. This phone can't be rooted yet afaik.

I have a doubt, so on Samsung and many other manufactures 3rd party camera apps can not access main camera sensor's higher resolution. For ex. if mobile has 32MP main camera sensor then 3rd party camera apps would have access to 8mp only. So this 8mp is using pixel binning on main camera sensor or some other tech? If some other tech, then what is that tech?

Thanks!

First find out if your sensor uses pixel binning - if yes that's why gcam saves lower res photos and it's normal. You'll need a special fix (requires camera libraries modifications) to make 32MP work. But these sensors are designed to use the pixel binning so you won't benefit much from the full resolution.

How do I find out whether mobile camera sensor support/use pixel binning? Is it available in exif info or any tool for it?
Device: Galaxy M40

Thanks

Poco X3 NFC surya, Pixel Experience Plus latest. Uninstalled GCam to install Aranova's latest with config file, but the apk can't install, all other GCam apks install just fine, but this one can't be installed.

I tried "Snap_GCam_6.210329.0153build-8.1.101.apk" and it works just fine.

When I try ro install "GCam_5.200604.2138build-7.3.021.apk" it says "This app wasn't installed."

It conflicts with something. Does anyone have an idea what might it be? I have ANXCamera installed with Magisk (needed to flash v1.5, then v3.0 from some telegram group), and default camera app with PE rom installation (org.lineageos.snap).

The app that fails probably uses the same package name as the one that ships with the ROM.

This version is old and could be not compatible with A11 - I suppose you're running A11.

    Arnova8G2's new version (Gcam-8.1.101.build-V6.2.211013) supports .gca config files. All config files so far used the .xml file format.

    What's the difference?

    The main difference to a normal .xml config is that .gca may contain more than just settings. For example, a .gca may also contain things like custom libraries ("libs") that change the level of detail, colours, etc, of the photos we take.

    .gca files are similar to .zip. They're being used because it only requires users to download and load one file vs two or more.

    What changes?

    When being saved - at least on Arnova's version - GCam uses a different folder:
    • .XML files: /GCam/Configs8/
    • .GCA files: /GCam/GcaFiles/
    To load .GCA files:
    • Settings » Advanced » XML Config » Load » Select config
    Other than this? Not much. For users it's just a new file format. I'm only sharing this here to inform you that configs now may be a .xml or a .gca.

    Is the .XML format dead?

    No. Not all modders will adopt this and users may still create and share .XML files. Both files are supported.

    I just tested Wichaya's GCam 7 and I was able to install it on my Poco X3 NFC (running ArrowOS/Android 11).

    GCam 7 itself should run fine on Android 11, that's why I think it's a package thing/the fact your ROM ships with a GCam, not incompatibility between GCam 7 and Android.

    Yes, I think too it's a package thing (but for me, only with his version of 7.3, any other developer, no problems at all ), but I found 8.1 gcam with poco x3 xml config file anyway, so I uninstalled 7.3. Thanks for your feedback man.

    Google Camera Port
    by @Arnova8G2

    This is a support thread for apks created by Arnova8G2. Here you'll find basic instructions on how to use this port and how to properly report bugs.

    Compatibility:
    - The camera2 api needs to be enabled;
    - Most versions only work on Snapdragon SoCs, but some work on Kirin and Exynos processors;
    - 64 bit ROMs are a requirement;
    - Doesn't work on phones without RAW support (eg: some Sony devices);
    - Newer versions may work only on new Android versions. Old versions might be better for old Android versions;

    Known issues:
    - FAQs and troubleshooting

    - Slow motion is broken on some phones and Android versions;
    - Some devices have issues with their front cameras (eg: OnePlus 3/3T, 5/5T). You may have to install a fix (if available for your phone) or disable HDR+ on the front camera (setting only available on some apks);
    - Features on new Google Camera versions may take some time to be ported;

    How to report bugs:
    If possible, post on a thread for your phone (check this list or your phone's forum) or here if you can't find a thread for your phone. Please describe the issue and give details about your setup:

    - Phone, ROM, any fixes installed;
    - Name of the apk you're using;
    - Screenshots or video recordings of the bug if you're able to;
    - A logcat if there's a crash (How to save a logcat: video guide, advanced guide);
    - Steps to reproduce the bug/crash;
    - Mention @Arnova8G2 username;

    - Your report will be ignored if no logs or a good explanation is provided.
    - Arnova8G2 will do his best to fix bugs, but keep in mind that this is a free port and he also has his personal life.

    Example of a report:
    @Arnova8G2 Portrait mode crashes on my OnePlus 3 running LineageOS 15.1 (Android 8.1). I'm using "GCam_Pixel3Mod_1.1_build.6.1.013.apk".
    To reproduce, open the app, go to portrait mode using the front camera, and take a picture.
    Here's the crash log: <google drive link>
