This has stopped updating on my phone. It's happened before but a reboot would get it going again. This time nothing seems to work.
it is a feature of the OS
background agent that updates live tile is added to the schedule for 14 days
after this it's disconnected and you need to switch ON/OFF live tile update in Battery Status settings

re-install didn't work either. Could it be a conflict with another app?

Update- got it working by removing the home brew folders app.

Update 2- and now it's stopped again. Worked well for maybe 1 day after removing folders app.

It happens from time to time, on my device too. Even within the said 14 days span.
Just go to the settings of Battery Status app and slide the first slider on again (its most propably just switched to "off")

If that isn't it, I have no clue as that is the only "malfunction" of the app on my device at the moment

I had tried that, it said that it was updating but it wasn't.
Only way to get it updated was to open it. I guess I'll just remove the live tile until there is another update.....then I'll try again.

I guess This will show how new I am to all this but, how is this App installed?
I downloaded BatteryStatus4.6.1.1 and looked through the file after unzipping it and I don't see how to get this installed on the Phone, and If I understand correctly from the first few pages that this app is now usable on the HTC wp7 Mango custom rom? I flashed the XBmod/Yuki Wp7 Rom to my HD2, or am I missunderstanding.

Thanks

Thank you for getting back to me and I have Toms xap installer, but the BatteryStatus4.6.1.1 is not like the other .xap files I have, I see all the .mui .dll
files in the folder, that is what has me a bit confused.

The attached screen captures shows what I'm seeing.

Why zip? Simply download xap from OP and install. Man, i I don't understand what you are doing with it...
I'm not doing anything, It's a .zip file, and I did download it from the OP!! please explain how .xap installer will install a .zip file? I have several .xap items, and have already installed them with .xap installer. See the image attached it shows two files compaired side by side. Classic Solitaire.xap zipped & unzippped and BatteryStatus4.6.1.1.zip Zipped & unzipped.

I also attached a scren capture of everal .xap items that all came zipped up and when unzipped, I had .xap file that xapinstaller can install.

This is what I'm Clicking on
BatteryStatus4.6.1.1.xap - [Click for QR Code] (1.60 MB, 11821 views) the Link for this is http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=875276&d=1327680883 and this zip file does have a .xap file in it.

Also I know I'm not sharpest pencil in the box, and I have a whole lot to learn, but I know enough to see what a .xap file is and zip file is. I'm not saying that anyone is saying bad about what I'm doing or not correctly. And by all standards I'm still a N00b at all this, but I'm trying my best to learn as best & fast as I can, so I don't have to keep asking what seem like N00b questions.

I realized that I did not thank you for getting back to me, I do appreciate it, but I checked and my file association and that is not the Problem, as far as I can tell. I actually take great steps to make sure file associations stay only with the respective program :ie .zip, .xap, .7zp only open with program that it is ment to.

But what ever the problems I have no clue, however I did make a short screen capture video to show what is going on with this app and when I download another .xap app. I ask that you take a look at it please, and the only way I can get this .xap app to be as such, you will see that I change it from .zip to .xap, yet with the other file you see that I don't have to.

Pleaseexcuse the poor quality but I did this on fly. and did not try to change quality.

Great video. Solution is simple. Use for download other browser than IE. Im using Google Chrome and it downlods XAP, not ZIP. I think there is any inconsistency between IE and forum downloads...

Take the video use it as needed, if the OP wants to add it to first post. and thinks it will help others by all means use the video.

PS: I just tried Firefox and it downloaded the app as a .xap file and not as a .zip file. Now that is odd, why only with this app, all other app's I never had an issue downloading.

Have not experienced this and I do use the 10 minute interval. Apps that I know are updating regularly; Weather Channel, USA Today, Fox News, Network Dashboard & CleverToDo. I believe Mehdoh is also working, but I don't get too many mentions. Urban Dictionary stopped updating a few days ago, but I am almost certain this it's an app problem. it has stopped for a week or more sever times in the past.

What apps are causing you a problem. You can try toggling the background task funtion on/off from within the app. I assume you have checked Settings>Background Tasks to make sure the app(s) is still enabled. Running 8 background tasks every day, and the L900s limit of 9, I will often have an app that gets bumped off when I open an app that I don't use very often.
Yep, checked all of them in background tasks. And even toggled them off, rebooted and toggled all of them back on relaunched each to ensure the background tasks started back up. It was every app I have that uses a live tile that I had pinned to homescreen. The easiest to monitor was Wonder Reader since it's always getting updates. MyStocks and WeatherMaster also stopped. I'm afraid to use the 10 min interval now since it happened. But, would really like to know if that's what the OP meant by "It's possible the background tasks will not start on a reboot" error when you select the 10 min interval? Does that mean only for battery status or the background tasks as a whole?

This app is great, thank you.

I was surprised to see a 10min update option, is this a debug setting... as I thought 30mins was the minimal possible.

30 mins is the set interval by OS for regular updating.. more intensive checking (more battery power hungry) will update at shorter interval.
I have done multiple tests and the difference in battery drain (30min vs. 10min) is minimal, almost non existent. Less than 1% per day. Been using the 10 minute setting since the app was released.

Not so. As long as you open they app at least every 14 days the Background Task won't expire. Battery Meter will simetimes turn off it's Background Task on soft reset, but that only happens about 1 in 5 times for me. Always set to 10 minute interval, and always works. Even with Battery Saver enabled.

Update- got it working by removing the home brew folders app.

Update 2- and now it's stopped again. Worked well for maybe 1 day after removing folders app.
A recent version of the homebrew folder app did conflict with Battery Meter as I pointed out in a previous post. But the most recent version of Folders fixed the problem. Both apps are playing nice together again on my Surround and Lumia 900.

Except for the brief encounter with the Folders app, Bettery meter has worked perfectly for me since the day I installed. I have run numerous tests and monitor my battery drain (every 10 minutes) daily without fail. Battery Meter is always working. Also, as a side note, although Battery Saver (built in to the OS) disables Background Tasks, it does not affect apps that do not make calls out to the Internet. So Battery Meter, Network Dashboard, and other similar apps will continue to run normally.

Wish I could help with your problem.
