Yes, mapping bands should work on Lumia 550 like on all other Windows 10 Mobile phones. And screen can be off while mapping.

had the 1.1.13, downloaded latest version, installed cert, tried to install appx but istantly closes when I push the confirmation button.... any ideas?

ps developer mode on, removed old version and retried but same result.

All this on a lumia 830 with latest win 10 (no insider)

Hmm. Have you tried first installing the dependencies before installing the new version? The cert is not required by the way. Can you also try installing via Windows Device Portal website (enable in Developer Settings), http://127.0.0.1/ if you do it on your phone.

I like the app a lot and it's better than the Android version in many ways, but what is the proper way to shut it down? I think it's running in the background even when I close it. My battery is draining very quickly even when I close the app.

Thanks!

One way to stop it from running in the background is to turn off recording by pressing the Record button. Or you can press & hold the back button and swipe the app away from there.

Yes it's safe, you should buy a x50 Lumia for best experience but any Windows 10 Mobile phone will work. Dual SIM works, but as I don't have a Dual Sim phone myself there might be some bugs when using 2 SIMs.

It uses APIs that are not allowed for Store apps, so only sideloading is possible. But sideloading is pretty easy, no need for a PC as it can be done on the phone itself on Win10.

So you mean locking to a specific frequency band? On Lumia x50 devices you can open Edge and type the url mmo-ftdapp://test and use the Band Locking. Other Lumias may or may not have the diagnosis dial code enabled. You can try by entering ##3282# in the phone dialer.

Hi, on 950 dual sim, installed via Windows Device Portal website, ( tried to install appx via file explorer but istantly closes when I push the confirmation button).
- There isn't notification or log file to say if the data have been correctly uploaded :s
- The different colors of the 4 buttons aren't very clear, red and green are for example
- How many time between data uploaded and data available on the map ?

I have not tried Lumia 550 but should work fine. CellMapper always uses 1 second data saving interval for now.

The File Explorer installer just works that way, it closes and does not say if it succeeded or not. But good that you got it installed, now app updates should install fine via file explorer.
Answers to your questions:
- The upload button has a tiny progress bar in the bottom part of it, when the button is fully blue the upload has completed successfully. The bar is only visible if upload is turned on and there is something to upload.
- Colors are: grey = off, blue = on.
- Generation is randomized, so it could take from minutes to days. Usually around a day is to be expected. This is due to the constant server load. If you want to help with the server operating costs, you can do so here: https://www.cellmapper.net/donate (Don't donate to me from my XDA profile as I'm not the one running the servers, unless you really wanted to donate to me)
