ok installed via Windows Device Portal website

1 info , how can exit app? and if i press to record not map correct? forse upload i click upload? sorry but on android is different

Good thing you got it installed. When the record button is grey it will not map. When the upload button is blue it will upload what you have recorded. To exit app there are two ways. One is to turn recording off, then the app won't run in the background. Another is to kill the app from task view, press and hold the back arrow button and swipe the app down.

very thanks , Really great app! Thank you again, just one thing you could add a menu to see the stuff loaded or uploaded, the points can be loaded even after I have no network?

@jessenic, could you integrate an UWP MapControl to your application and add ability to display cell towers on the map? This will be a very nice feature; MapControl is really easy to use, and already has all needful API's (very same as you've used on Google Map control on your site).

Please try rebooting your phone, check if CellMapper is always allowed to run in the backround (even when battery saving on) from Battery settings. If that doesn't help, reinstall CellMapper. If it still does that, a factory reset is the last option.

I have thought of it, but all my development efforts are currently put into the beta map here: https://www.cellmapper.net/testmap/map. While the map may seem simple, it has quite a lot of logic running behind it. I was thinking of wrapping that new map in a WebView with some integration as it has very good performance on W10M. We are in the progress of rewriting the backend APIs too so it's not worth the effort to write a custom map for just a few hundred W10M users just to rewrite it again after the new API surface is ready.

.

I've tried and a phone reboot solves the issue, but, why I have to reboot everyday? There is no another way to fix this?

I do not know what causes it, it's not happening on my phones. Might be completely unrelated to CellMapper. Maybe try factory reset? Or do you have some other GPS apps running (like navigation or sports tracking)? As only one GPS tracking app can run in the background at a time.

No, I have only Cellmapper running in background with GPS use, since I disabled all other apps, maps included.

Is there any chance you can try to recompile the app for amd64 so I can try to run it on a Windows 10 laptop. It fails to install because the downloaded app is for ARM.

Manual upload process?

I've just installed version 1.2.18.0 on an Alcatel Idol4S running Windows 10 Mobile build 10.0.15254.158 and I cannot find the way to upload my .csv files manually. Earlier mentions in this thread of the upload process said to press the Upload button and highlight the relevant files. When I press the Upload button, it just cycles between blue and gray. It may be uploading them automatically, and if so, is there a way to verify that? My Cellmapper account still says "You have uploaded 0 data points." Thanks.

When the upload button is blue, it will do the upload. There's a tiny progress bar at the bottom of the button. Manual CSV upload was disabled due to some people abusing it. It will take some time for your data to appear online, can vary from hours to days. If you have a Premium subscription, then the generation will be somewhat faster.

I released a bugfix version 1.1.12.0 which fixes a bug found that causes the app to crash on some occasions when on foreground.

Could someone try these deployment steps please:
  1. Download the zip from the download link
  2. On your phone open and install the .cer certificate file
  3. On your phone open and install the appx file

Hi,

I just did follow the 3 steps. It works for my Lumia 950, but not for my Lumia 650. Any suggestions?

Have a Lumia 950XL. Downloaded the ZIP file and installed .cer file then the .appx file. However, it appears the install(s) crashed. No cellmapper app listed in app list. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Hello everyone, I'm back with an app (beta) for you!

CellMapper displays advanced GSM/CDMA/UMTS/LTE/LTE-A cellular network information and can also record this data to allow you to contribute to our crowd-sourced coverage maps.
    Link to website: https://cellmapper.net

The Windows 10 Mobile version supports Live Upload, CSV upload is not possible.

    Installation:
    1. Download the zip from the download link
    2. On your phone open and install the .cer certificate file
    3. On your phone open and install the appx file

    Usage:
    • Install using the above guide or use Device Portal to deploy
    • Open the app, turn Record on (blue)
    • Run around the town with GPS on and CellMapper running
    • Turn upload on (blue), optionally log in (account), and wait for the datapoints to be uploaded.

    CellMapper BETA 1.1.13.0 on 950XL/14965.

Crashes after splash screen if High Contrast theme is ON.

There is a ticket open for the high-contrast issue.

The app refuses to install even after installing the certificate

Did you enable Developer Mode on the device? If you do not, it will simply not install without any error messages.
