I'm new to this hacking my phone thing. I downloaded every CHTEditor only to find out after I installed them to my phone each one said wrong version. I know this is a pretty commion issue, I just don't understand what I have to do to correct it

Well, a few more details about your "hacking" would help!

I assume you, first, installed the relevant versions of CHT? Patently CHT Editor is the companion to CHT - and the first post in the relevant thread gives lots of important details and information. It also asks for the info other members need before they can help.

Read the relevant threads, search for answers, THEN post if your question is not answered - I can pretty well guarantee it has been!

I have a tiny question. I installed cookies home tabs and all of my settings are like: IDS_SET_WALLPAPER etc. I do understand all of this but it has a much more cleaner look when the names are normal!

I'd like to have this question answered.

Notification bar

Great app many thanks but on the notification bar i cannot get the e-mail icon to open my e-mail folder. ive done a search but cannot find anything related to this, can anyone help?

ive also searched for changing icon names to make them shorter but no success?

HD2 Cookies Gap

Gday,

I've got a Telstra HD2 and I've just installed the newest 1.8.... version of the Cookies home tab, between the Sense slider at the bottom and the "phone" and "menu" tabs right at the bottom, there is a small gap which is showing the background of the lock screen. Just wondering if there's any way to fix this?

Any help would be appreciated.

Different results: Import via menu vs. command line

Loving CHT (he says after a few man-day of configuring, lack of sleep, and a wife who is wondering how a man can play with his phone 24/7 for days on end...)

Am stuck on importing cht settings: if I import from the CHTEditor menu, all is well. If I do it via command line, the layout and links are imported, but the number of pages per level and the softkey settings are NOT imported... (by command line, I mean I am launching XDA_UC and using a script I found on the forum:

CHTEditor = SystemPath("ProgramFiles")\"CHTEditor\CHTEditor.exe"
CHTSettings = '/IMPORT "\Storage Card\Documents\CHT\20101123.0218.cht"'
RunWait(CHTEditor, CHTSettings)

If you are using CHT 2.0, you should also be using CHT Editor 2.0
Also then posting about issues in the CHT Editor 2.0 thread.

Love the theme it is great I am using a couple of different themes and I would love to have your date header with color alarm by itself if that is possible

CHT editor 1.8.5.1 crashes when I apply changes.
It didn't when I installed it originally, but now I do not know which app or mod could cause the crash.
Any hints on how to solve the problem?

PS. After trying various options I decided to uninstall CHT and CHT editor and install them again.
It seems it worked, the issue disappeared.

Command Line export import

EDIT. READ FIRST: I might have posted this in a wrong place, I actually tried this on CHT 2.0.0.0. I am not sure if this will work on older versions.. Try it on your own risk.

As i lost a couple of hours and dozen of HRs to figure this out i thought to post it here in case someone searches for it:
The correct syntax for commands to include in you mortscript files are (for automated import, export of settings in XDA_UC let's say):

For EXPORT
Lnk = "/EXPORT ""Storage card\XDA_UC\CHTSettings,cht"""
Run( "\Program Files\CHTEditor\CHTEditor.exe", Lnk )

For IMPORT
Lnk = " /IMPORT ""Storage card\XDA_UC\CHTSettings.cht"""
Run( "\Program Files\CHTEditor\CHTEditor.exe", Lnk )

* note, that this will create file in XDA_UC folder, if you are using something else or another filename (I wonder why) then change accordingly.
** you would rather include chtrestart.exe command at the end of import..

how do i produce a cab file from the download? All i get is a bunch of files zipped up and when i un zip them all i get is the same bunch of files with no cab file, what am I doing wrong pls?

If - as it sounds - you're trying to unzip the download file for CHT that's where you're going wrong! A CAB file does 'look like' a ZIP folder, but all you have to do is copy it to your phone and then run it from there.

AHHH!!!! Thanks right next to quote, AGAIN! I fail, lol.

Anyway, as Werdna72 said, it actually is a CAB file, not a zip file. CAB files are the zip method of choice by Microsoft for their WM apps.

Just do as he said and you'll be fine. Incidentally, have you already installed CHT?
