Unfortunately not yet lol. Marvin_S is having some troubles with my project. I am fixing up a few things by myself then seeing if it will work for him. He's done a good job at fixing up this UI I might add :). I'm going to stay up late and hopefully get it submitted tonight as if it weren't for Marvin_S, I would've submitted and immediately got rejected for a small but noticeable bug. I will update everyone. Sorry for the push backs!
Sounds great! Google music was basically the only thing keeping me from switching to wp full time (considering the lack of expandable memory on most phones). I'd be willing to pay good money for your app. If you're putting it up for free, expect a donation coming your way.

P.S. this is kind of off-topic, but for a WP noob like myself, what is the microsoft review process like for the marketplace from the perspective of a developer? (compared to android and ios)

Hey snickler, is there some way we can implement a "mock-up" database for design purposes?

As I can easily finish the UI in a couple of days... but unfortunately I still am not able to get the app running. Whatever I tried, no results showed up in the versions I build on my machine.

Or maybe I can send you my build at the end of every day and you build a xap which I can than test and make adjustmenst accordingly?
Not ideal, but doable (anyway I would prefer the mockup data, if not to hard to do, maybe an export of your database? You can access it trough WP Powertools, and than somewhere make a boolean which loads the hardcoded mockup database).

People let me tell you something, this app is going to be awesome! and its going to be well worth the wait!

It's code complete, we are just tuning up the UI to makeit not only work awesome but also look awesome!

Sure thing. I can do that. I just fixed something that would've blown up the app due to freaking LINQ. GroupBY = Slow. Making an IEqualityComparer for Distinct == QUICK!

Me neither. Sorry again for the pushbacks. I really decided it was necessary to get this UI revamped. It's looking VERY nice! Marvin_S is a genius. :-D. I want to make sure this app gives the user a wonderful experience.
Take your time!

P.S. you guys have some competition, gooroovster is currently in beta. I've been using it for the past two days and while it works great, the ui is just plain awful. Looking forward to what you guys cook up.

Thank you for your understanding.

We dont like all of you to wait, however from previous apps we realised that releasing an unfinished product is unfair to a consumer and we will get punished for that in the reviews and ratings. Although being first to market will be a great achievement, we decided we prefer that the app is solid and coherent and likewise the top Google Music app in the market. As snickler did an awesome job on the coding, I am working hard to bring the UI on par.

We have some disadvantages as a different time zone, but non of this will stop us from working our asses off. At this point there is still one section which needs to be restyled. However since the basis is there this should be pretty much a copy/paste job.

But it is looking nice :) and we think in the end the long wait was worth it. We dont like to make false release claims but expect it to be ready really really soon. Than the submission process will take about 4 days if all goes well.

Some screen shots of the current build

It's taking shape, snickler is working on some last minute code improvements. After that, Ill receive the project and work on finalizing the UI. There is still a bit of work to do, but it won't be long before it will be finished :)

Looks REALLY nice. Are you guys implementing any zune-like features? (Artist backgrounds and bios especially, though bios are less important to me) Also, a suggestion, I really like how the zune live tile shows an image of the artist. Is that going to be in your app? I'll still buy/donate either way, but those are some features I'd love to see. (Forgive me if you've already mentioned/implemented these features, I just found out about the app a few days ago.)

Yep ;)

We had to make some changes to the code so we can push trough album art etc. and an artist image. I've purposely not uploaded a picture of the playback screen since its not finished, but it will be very "zune"-like.

Much appreciated man! Responses like yours motivate us to do the best we can do :)

loving the screen shots, great job guys!
Guys we have made a significant amount of progress with this app. I have a few more things to add and test before sending off to Marvin_S to check UI and functionality then we will be ready to go. BTW, the pinning of artists and albums to the start menu works very well :). More updates to come! We are hoping to wrap this up so I can submit to marketplace. There are a few things that will be added in an update to the application that aren't completely necessary for the first version.

We have album art working in the player.

Also at the moment we are busy with improving the sorting methods to optimize the grouping of songs from the same artist etc.
This is quite a complex task but it will be well worth the effort, but it is quite an important improvement in usability. Snickler is working hard on this, and if he is finished Ill do some final checkups on the UI. Most of the work is done, all that's left is getting the little details right.

Also we have found a better way for retrieving artist images :) soon I will finalize the UI of the music player and I'll upload some screen shots of the play now screen.

The application is exceeding our own expectations and thats why we want to make sure even the smallest details are worked out correctly. But we are really nearing the finish line.

Wow, this is cool, I knew there had to be others working on a player. I created one too, I've been working on it for a while and actually using it all the time driving around. I had some time and figured I should get it out to the market. Very cool, I'll definitely check it out.
Did you get the idea when trying to use the Web version of Google Music and realizing how crappy it was and how it didn't switch to other songs in the background like I did? haha.

Yeah, last sept I was driving to a conference and almost drove into the ditch trying to play the next song through the browser interface.
Almost ran over three baseballs trying to cut the lawn while trying to get a new song play. Needless to say my epiphany woke me up just before I ran one over. I'm glad others have made google music apps. A lot of people stick with other platforms because we don't have one out for the windows phone.
