App Development question

Can somebody point me in the right direction for a good, current, understandable beginners guide to app creation? I've screwed around in AppInventor, but I know that's a very dumbed down system. I had introductory courses in java and C, but that was a decade ago. Thanks in advance.

Probably one of the dummy books. Teach yourself Android Dev for dummies. Teach yourself android dev in 24 hours, beginning java for dummies, java for dummies

Java for dummies or android development for dummies?

I know nothing about java. Best to get some java knowledge before starting o android? Or can you just get into android development?

I just added the word android. Maybe take out the word understandable? Maybe not.
