I've noticed the program tends to crash back to menu when playing video (mkv, 720p, h264). When I resume, it would resume form the last non-crashed place that I had started.

Is this a known issue? Is there a place to file a bug to have it looked into?

this app runs GREAT! so much more smooth than vplayer! only one problem I found so far since I watch a lot of anime with embedded subtitles. Most are .mkv with .ass subtitles. .ass subtitles embedded in .mkv don't seem to load although .srt load fine.

Can you integrate support for .ass subtitles?

I attached an example .ass subtitle (i put it in a .rar archive since xda didn't allow .ass as attachment..)

Thank you ! :)
wow, this was already implemented :D

two bugs that I found with the same subtitle as attached above:

if there is a comma, the comma and the whole rest of that line is not displayed. if it is a two-line entry and the comma is in the first line then everything starting with the comma including the second line is not displayed.

for example:
128
00:10:24,700 --> 00:10:27,790 SSA: Dialogue, Layer: 0, Style: Main Dialog, Name: , MarginL: 0000, MarginR: 0000, MarginV: 0000, Effect:
With this, the kingdom
will finally be secure.

displays as:
With this

if there are two lines in one entry then a capital N is displayed in front of the line

Example:
102
00:08:53,860 --> 00:08:57,540 SSA: Dialogue, Layer: 0, Style: Main Dialog, Name: , MarginL: 0000, MarginR: 0000, MarginV: 0000, Effect:
I saw it when I went to the
surface to gather info!

Displays as:
I saw it when I went to the
Nsurface to gather info!

Thank you for implementing support for embedded .ass subtitles. These should be easy bugfixes :)

Works awesome so far! 720p mkv stuff that rockplayer/moboplayer/stock player can't handle in either hardware or software mode, and an avi I've been trying where the sound cuts out during playback with the other players works good on this app.

Yeah just tried a mkv on dice and it played perfect. Tried the same file with the default player and 1 minute in the sound died.

Dev can you turn off the light beneath the panel buttons - home, menu, back search - while video is playing?

I'm pretty sure that's related to the light sensor. If you are in a daytime or otherwise bright environment, the lights won't turn on, but if you're in a dark room or cover the sensor, the lights turn on.

For me they are always lit when the phone screen is on. Bright or dark it's the same.

edit**
Man, this thing needs to be in direct bright light to cut off.

the serious comma bug was fixed, thank you so much!

the second bug still persists although that's just a little annoying and doesn't cause text to be missing at least:

if there are two lines in one entry then a capital N is displayed in front of the line

102
00:08:53,860 --> 00:08:57,540 SSA: Dialogue, Layer: 0, Style: Main Dialog, Name: , MarginL: 0000, MarginR: 0000, MarginV: 0000, Effect:

Has anyone been successful in playing 1080P h.264 high profile videos as advertise? Or are we limited to 720P currently?

Not that I would want to carry 1080P movies around with me too often, even with a 32GB card it would only fit 3-4 movies max.

Dice Player is HW Accelerated Media player for android.

we add Qualcomm Dualcore support.

1080p h.264 high profile playback supported.
MKV/AVI format + DTS/AC-3/Flac Audio codec supported.

you can download diceplayer from Android maket.

juami thnx m8, this diceplayer will be a huge player in the near future :)

so my findings so far are :
720p mvk/avi/divx/mp4 has no problems at all with these
1080p mkv/avi low class avi's sometime work fluent, but 1080p bluray rips are too heavy i guess.

anyways u won't see any difference between 720p and 1080p on your phone anyways plus the size of those files make it very inconvenient too

You can use Screen Filter on the market. It can turn off buttons backlight.

Depends on videos. And cpu clock.
1.5ghz dualcore works well.
But 1.2ghz cpu need more power to decode video and
Dts audio.

I don't have 1.2ghz device. 1.5ghz device have enough power to play 1080p high profile with dts
