I just love this app!

Yeah it can run 720p and even 1080p (some music videos) but I have litle lag every few sec on a few 720p series (The Big Bang Theory), here is the info of movie

Hi. I'm from the Evo 3D forums and since our phones are very similar I thought I would post my problem in here. Using DICE player I can make avi, mp4, and mkv files with no problems. Once in a while I will get a mp4 that will not play correctly. I'm trying to play True Grit 1080p H264 AAC and the video will play at .5 speed and the sound will be in superslow motion. mp4 videos that I download from youtube play effortlessly. How can I play that mp4 file correctly?

the sensation is limited..it has not enough power to play a 1080p movie...stick with 720p... there will be no difference between 720p or a 1080p movie on your phones screen ..lool

The mp4 youtube videos i have are 1080p and they play just fine. Is there a type of mp4 that needs to be reconverted to play smoothly?

well a youtube 1080p clip does not have the same bitrate as a normal 1080p mkv/mp4 movie... i tried alot of settings/encodes with 1080p on the sensation...it does not work smooth and it wont anytime soon (if ever) like i said go with 720p u wont see the difference between 1080 and 720p on a screen that small..

I have some MKV with embedded ass subtitles. These subs use subtitles for translating signs and also have occasional notes in a grey-colored box.

All players I tried so far (Dice, Mobo, MXPlayer) weren't able to play those correctly. If a translation for a sign was shown, the main subs were missing. When subs were supposed to show up in a colored box, numbers and commands were shown along with the subs.

It seems like those are advanced features of ASS? Is there any chance they will be added to Diceplayer? Or does anyone know of an android player that can handle those?


In case anyone wants to try, Gintama 66 (Rumbel release) makes heavy use of them and is unwatchable in those players.

I've been using Dice Player since I got my device. I never had any issues with it. I am using it to watch 720p HD TV series. Only problem I have is the sound. But it is not about the player or the device. When 5.1 sound is downmixed to 2.0 I get weak center sound for dialogs. There is no lag or sync issues. I've tried some 1080p movies and they run smootly too. While watching I see no differences on the screen for 720p & 1080p so I stick with 720p. And even 460p videos look awesome on device screen .

I know this is an old thread, but I love this program.

I was wondering if there are any plans for continued development of this app in the paid format?

So far I haven't been able to get this to play on an ICS based Rom always FC

I'd be willing to double buy if there is a newer paid version if that is any incentive

Hello, and sorry for resurrecting this thread. The thing is, Dice Player took my phone hostage.

I uninstalled the app and now I can't play any more videos on my phone. When I reinstall the app, however, it instantly plays in Dice. I tried clearing defaults - no can do, Dice is not used as a default app (according to my phone, SGS 2.3.6 JW4) yet it behaves like one.

Can anyone help? No other 3rd party apps help, I just can't get the popup window to allow me to choose the new default video app.
