[APP] Easy Replace and/or Restart SystemUI.apk Utility - By Serajr - v2, 20/04/13

Question

Use one of your SystemIU, but every time I get a message or alarm active hides the statusbar and I must restart the phone to display again, as I can fix it? I'm using this app to restart but it does not work.
I have a Live with Walkman ICS with .585

hey brother what do you mean by on sd card root can you specify the folder name system/app ??
1 - Put your modded SystemUI.apk on the SD card root
i Xperia u user inbuilt sd card..
what to do here ??

2 - Disconnect SD card (if not, the application will alert you

i know they sound stupid but i want to use this app n finding difficult to understand this..

should find ur sd card even if its inbuilt just place the apk in phone/sdcard (root=directory)
then use his /(easy replace) apk normally like mentioned

Yes m quite sure..
bcz there was very little to be editted in xml.. which hardly took 2-5 min to decompile and recompile it .. without any errors

and finally did u put back META-INF and androidmanifest.xml from the original apk and sign??

Crashes

I was trying to edit my SystemUI.apk so I followed this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2527867 but then I wanted to put it on my phone following your tuto.
Now my phone keeps putting "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped." I tried rebooting, same thing. What did I do wrong? Maybe in the signing? The video tutorial used "zipalign -fv 4 ...." command while I read on other tutorials you should copy the original manifest and I don't know which files but in the video he didn't do it...
What can I do please help

Rooted via Framaroot.
i was having frequent popup System UI stopped working.
So i tried to replace it.
I went to ROOT UNINSTALLER PRO.
Tried to Disable SYSTEM UI.
When i clicked to disable.
The phone suddenly rebooted and then its hanging in the BOOT only.
No response after that.
Tried factory reset
cleared cache.
No response.
Pleae help ASAP.
nd Yeh im new on Andoid nd a NOOB...

That's a bit off-topic..

SystemUI.apk is an integral part of Android. Disabling it while the OS is running is a little like removing your car's gearbox while you're driving it. As you can tell, that's not a good thing.

If you're getting a bootloop ( the boot animation plays then the phone resets) then you need to flash your nandroid backup that you made before you starting editing your SystemUI.apk.

If you didn't make one, then you're probably looking at reflashing the whole phone. Hopefully the manufacturer has made a PC suite that lets you do that.

Take it from somebody who used to be a big noob..it's important to know how to recover your phone if a mod goes wrong, before you start modding it!

but I resolved the isuue and now a new problem is occurring I replaced systemui.apk with modded systemui.apk and rebooted.
after reboot my drop down notification or status bar disappeared and wallpaper became black and I can't change it any further.
please help

But I'm getting annoying again 'cause I can't see any notification. So I found this app, ok I tried, apparently worked, but I dont see any changes(?) I still dont have my status bar. Help

There wouldn't be any changes in the past six months. The OP hasn't been updated since April 2013...
