all versions in this topic not working and gives me a crash when starting the app .. any help?

it would be excellent to have a port of Xiaomi's official pocophone cam for custom ROMs but I don't know how to port it.

cstark27, just confirmed he WONT be doing any port for POCO F1. He is moving from OP6 to either Pixel 3 or Apple XL.

Yeah if they're waiting for Pixel 3 that means all GCam mods from there on will only work with Android Pie because the Pixel 3 will release with Android Pie, we will need Pie update on Poco before we can try gcam mods.

Is the Gcam working for GSI roms. Is this thread related to that or just for stock ROM. ?


Because Gcam Does not work at all in most GSI roms. I am on pixel experience. Could not get a single one to start. Tried 10-15 different apks.

It says can't connect to camera, No clue how XDA says it works . Although the one on the main thread works for me.

Hi, I've also been testing many different versions, but strangely most apk's that other users reported were working for them didn't for me. However, as I was testing apk's, I found this one that worked for me (w/o portrait mode or slow motion) but HDR, HDR+, 360°, etc working, (also both front & back cameras work)

I can't find the exact link right now if I find it I'll add it, but the name of the file is :

GS9_GCamera_Mod_v.5.1.20_R4X.apk

PS : If the app says that the front camera is 5Mpx, that's normal. Xiaomi is implementing "pixel binning" that essentially uses 4 physical pixels to produce one pixel for the image. They must be doing this at a low level and not just in the camera app, wich is why all apps see the front sensor as 5mpx)

Just installation and opening the app does not count as working.
In the APK you mentioned, I can't enable important functionality such as
- quality jpg 100%
- HDR super high

This is issue with mostapk. Without fine tuning these, gcam won't yield good results
