No, you need camera 2 API for HDR+ to work, which needs root

Haven't used one with front portrait working yet lol. But I'm using pixel 3 mod

but every app crashes or won't take pictures, which of all those should I download?

Take a logcat and upload. Dont just say " not working bla bla.." Developers have to be aware about what happens inside.
btw this one is working fine in MIUI(nougat), Dot os, Cr droid (n.b. nougat custom roms maybe not working)

What rom are you using? Which version you tried? What settings you put? And take a logcat or else the dev can't help you

Pixel 3 mod only work in oreo because it's based on GoogleCamera 5.2.022.191678196, which is only compatible in oreo. That's why it just crashes.

Yeah.. this is great.. Changed the HDR+ settings to nexus 6 auto+. Both the front and rear have portrait and HDR plus. Remember to select HDR+ in the camera interface. It also supports macro mode. I am on miui 9.5 global and slow motion works too. This is my default camera app now. Never crashed.

I just found this one which works except sometimes when it forces close (and the front camera without portrait mode is a little bit colour-blur )

anyway, I am gonna try to get log cast and add it here on the forum !thanks for your time!
