Mantis received a new full firmware update not that long ago, build date is 2023-04-15, firmware is Fire OS 6.2.9.6 (NS6296/4554), and looks like Amazon added a new system-app, or at least I hadn't noticed this app before, this package:

Package wasn't protected, was able to Disable it via ADB, but I didn't extract or dump the package to see what it actually does, and then I proceeded to do some bonehead ADB scripts, rebooted & soft-bricked my Mantis. Don't think disabling that one app had anything to do with bricking my Mantis, but be careful, and hopefully someone can take a look at that system-app.

So I recently got the WalMart onn. streaming box. Both LM 1.1.6 and WL 0.1.9 installed fine. But the system won't accept WL. Any suggestions?

Thanks. I will take a look at ProjectIvy if I can't get WL to work. There is another forum that claims their is a Google TV version of Wolf Launcher.
Many people use FLauncher as your launcher rather than Wolf Launcher on Android TV (Google TV) devices. And rather than changing the default launcher, some people just use the Button Mapper app to re-map their Home button to launch FLauncher. On mine, I made a long press of the Home button launch FLauncher, leaving the short press to get back to the default launcher.

Flauncher on the firestick. I found that when you hit the back button in Flauncher, it would unfortunately take you to the regular home screen. Is that still the case? That didn't happen with Wolf for me.
Yes, at least if it's not been set as the default launcher (i.e. when it is just run as an application). That's even what FLauncher does on Android TV. In other words, the back button goes back to whatever application was showing last. I don't know what the back button does there if you've set FLauncher as the default launcher in Launcher Manager on a fresh boot. I definitely get why you'd want it to *not* go back to anything -- to act like a true Kiosk mode for family members. Maybe someone can submit code to add that as an option. FLauncher only gets sporadic updates (but was recently updated, to be sure). Anyway, FLauncher isn't specifically customized for Fire OS. I'm only suggesting FLauncher for the onn. device.

Launcher manager is for FIRE TV the command it execute are useless for a googleTV and wont work and its not needed on googleTV has they dont block using third party launcher
I am using the Android TV version from the first post, not the Fire TV version. This app allows me to have my preferred launcher (Projectivy) when selecting Home without using Accessibility Services (to intercept button presses). Everything works well other than the buttons I mentioned.

Can you explain how it is not needed? I see no native option to change launcher.
Doesn't work on a new generic Q5 AndroidTV box. Complains about ADB Debugging not being enabled and then takes me to dev options where no such option even exists. There is only USB Debugging options, which are already enabled, still complaining.

its for fire tv and useless for android tv guys read up ... use adb on android tv to disable stock launcher and make third party one default... Launcher manager is for FIRE TV since FIREOS blocks launcher changes the program is made to perform certain task and hook than only applies to fireTV !
Did you miss that there is an Android TV version in the first post? Not sure why you insist on calling it useless, as it does indeed work on Android TV as there is a specific version for it.
there zero point trying to talk to you and explain you refuse to understand anything plus that version has been out of date and useless on androidtv 12 and up but you just refuse to get it ... thats you problem but stop replying to me about it
It does actually work on my Chromecast with Google TV (Android 12). Not sure where all this is coming from. Perhaps @SweenWolf would care to chime in on the Android TV version?

Since my last post I seem to have got it to work,I have netguard installed and blocked amazon updates and also the loop script,
What ssems to have worked for me is Launcher Manager>Launcher Options>Home Button Hook>Trigger Key and I changed this to Home Listener,
Default setting seems to be 0Z-DCS:HomePressReceiver,
I also turned on Shorcut Button Hook but not sure if this does anything to help, -

This app can disable Stock Launcher of Any Android TV (except anything running on Fireos 5), it requires Network Debugging to function.
The way it works is it finds the stock launcher and disables it.
It does that in a loop until "android" itself is set as default launcher.
at this point if there are no Custom launchers are installed on the system then you will see only a black screen.
So a custom launcher should be installed prior to enabling the custom launcher.
some apps also broadcasts themselves as launcher and if they are installed as system app and are set as default launcher then it will also disable them.
some launcher integrates settings in them so disabling the launcher will disable settings also.
the apps who broadcasts themselves as Fallback home will not be disabled.
There were certain cases where user uninstalled launcher and got blank screen, to mitigate that issue LMU will set itself as the launcher and call the other launchers on its behalf. so if the launcher is deleted then pressing the home button will launch LMU, from where you can disable custom launcher support.
If it detects that after disabling everything it doesn't reach the "android" itself and is unable to find a launcher then it will rollback itself, enabling every single thing it disabled.

Look I'm gonna tell you and everyone what I've done with the launcher till now,
I have changed the way it launches the app, on latest pro (any pro) it used to crash the apps.
I fixed the title bar. I then optimized it for FireTV (not any other OS, which caused it to misbehave on some device) which i later fixed. Then some people were having trouble installing both ATV and Wolf simultanously. so i had to change package name which made me to change the launcher name also (that might have been wrong on my side). then i optimized the app once again for FireOS (it caused some freeze issue). Then to fix Setting of Amazon HUD (older version of FireOS), I had to add a code to handle settings (it only works on Amazon and no other device). I changed some sections to give user large wall (that was temporary fix). I removed some http links, but they are used either for update check or to change Network State in the launcher.
Then i added "App Info" to the launcher, which i only added for non-system apps.
Later i removed the large section mod and unlocked the widget for Firestick 4k.
Then I added "Other Settings" which contained option to clear cache and Backup/ Restore function.
i also added a code which starts the services of Launcher Manager (thats also mainly for FireOS and thats because of Boot Delay). I also added a stroke for tiles.
thats all i have done to the apk. I have not done this mod to make any money, and i can assure you this app is safe to use. My only intention to mod this app was that this app was almost perfect and there was some bugs which i had to fix myself because the support of this launcher were down. And the only issue at that time was app crash for which i decided not to compile a launcher by myself. I am not forcing you to do anything, I am just clarifying myself, The apps which i have created are safe. and are to improve the user experience only.
i do not like to or want to rip someone off. I started this mod for FireOS only and no other OS.
