Hello,
I used the tool attached in this thread on my GSII (GT-I9100IKAIDE). I did a backup of my EFS folder first (now i know I did it the wrong way, cause I just copied the folder, losing permissions, but still it's better than nothing), also this tool itself did a proper .tar backup. After rebooting (still without SIM) it said that the phone is now unlocked, but I lost my IMEI, it's empty. I am on stock 4.0.4 rom with root installed with this method (1st one, superSU with busybox). After I saw no IMEI, I panicked a bit, and instantly did "restore EFS". I rebooted, and yeah, the phone got relocked, but still no IMEI. So, to sum up, I have 2 backups, so I should be pretty safe, but I still can't bring my phone's IMEI back (SIM Unlock is now not my priority, just want to get the IMEI back). Anyone could help?
Search for IMEI repair .....on XDA site there is couple different ways to make repair .....I did couple times and works.....just don't get in hurry. ...take time and read all necessary to do it right. ....
Don't ever give up .....

Thanks for answer. I used XDA since HTC Artemis and always loved the community here. It's such an awesome thing that I never really needed to register here (until now) since all my questions were always answered somewhere (I DO now how to use search function and how to read, read and read). See my updated post, unfortunately even XDA can't deal with manufacturing faults...
BTW:
I still have my HTC Artemis working... Galaxy S2 spent more time in repair than in use... I think that does say a bit about the build quality...
You probably did once already that is why you can't backup. .....look in your files under galaxsim unlock there will be your efs backup. ......then make little note on wich rom you made this backup. ....look for efs backup. tar

I will not agree with you on that. .....Samsung device are little more complicated than the rest. ......so to my knowledge I run on helping ....if you use cwm recovery do twice all tasks you usually do for fresh install. .....TWRP is something else ....that none of them are perfect. ....so you as human are in control to watch for problems

You know, the thing is, that the phone was brand new (no xda-work done to it) and it was losing signal, IMEI, and all the network info in settings. It is really a hardware fault, as in the warranty card for the first repair they wrote "motherboard fixed" (not replaced unfortunately). If it was "fixable" by xda, how would you explain its current behavior (actually same as before the "repair"): You turn it on, everything is nice and great. After, say, 20 minutes network goes dead and no imei (without touching the phone!). If you reboot it, it's still down. You have to take out the batterry for it to work for some time. Just google "galaxy s2 losing signal" or "galaxy s2 service unavailable". It's really just low quality hardware.
hi ... I try that one galaxsim unlock and galaxy s unlock and galaxy s tool ... but in my galaxy s2 ntt docomo did"nt open ... i try galaxy s unlock it show i have problem in busybox .; then i try galaxsim didnt work again it shown that ( root access denied . pls check your Rom is rooted and that you granted root access ). im a simple person not a technician or what ever .. i dont know how to root ..
pls help me ... tnx
My IMEI matches the one on my phone, so I guess that is good. Frustratingly I didn't have a backup, as I flashed another ROM, thinking that would simply fix the issue. Should I be worried?
EDIT:
My phone is showing full signal bars
My IMEI is correct
I don't have a backed up EFS folder (stupid mistake)
I cannot manually or automatically connect to any network
Do you think I may have a brick on my hands?
Last night a GalaxSim Unlock update was received from the Play Store. The phone was reported as "locked". I ran unlock again and apparently it has worked fine. It also survived a cold reboot.
Thanks for a great app!
Tried to unlock my S3, and got this message:
Privileged area
This feature is only available in pro version, however we're sorry to inform you that it's not available at this time. Please try again later.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Tanks for your hard work !
