Hello, with the new update, my s21 dont go to 96 in adaptative, only go 120 to 60 to 48, con i fix that ? Thanks

On my S21 in the adaptive mode, it can go up as high as 60Hz but it can go down to 48hz. I have to set a HIGH profile and set it to 96, but then it does not drop to 48Hz. So do I have to buy a premium for that feature?

In certain low brightness condition, the system prevents it to go 96Hz on S21. Samsung seems to have increased the brightness threshold for 96Hz in OneUI4.1. Unfortunately, GMH can't override this behavior. It reportedly works on power saving on lower brightness though as reported by @sideger below.

I'm here to confirm this is happening to me also. I can only have 96hz on PSM and only at certain brightness of about 45%.

I do hope it goes back to before where I can set around 20% ish brightness and still have 96hz.

I just removed apps like Chrome or Gmail. Nothing related to Samsung system.

It's really different per device. Others reported above high refresh rate is working on their devices on PSM except for the 96hz issue which does not work on low brightness conditions.

Re GS, I just meant its going 96 when adapt refresh rate is set to 48-96 in the GMH.

Info: This app targets older android sdk in order to control refresh rates without ADB setup. Just ignore the dialog that says "This app was built for an older version of Android...." when opened for the first time.

UPDATE:

I succesfully enabled high refresh rate in battery saving mode.

In practice I previously disabled PiP option in system settings, because I thinking it was useless. The weird thing is app didn't warn me about this lack.

Confirmed on S21 too. No more 48hz reduction during idle.

I second that. Oddly enough, this is the only mode that doesn't work. Any combination of 48-60-120 Hz works fine.

No I hadn't but I factory reset my phone due to it lagging constantly and I can now get 120Hz on PSM. I assume I had some corrupted system files and the reset fixed both issues.

Hi! Unfortunately this has been after a certain oneUI4.1 update. Brightness threshold was increased on 96Hz, it's reported to only work on higher brightness level on S21. Unfortunately GMH can't override it.
