😂 bad idea.
I cleard cache and app data from this app.... Now 120hz mode is not working anymore in PSM.
Even if I turn everything on

It's a bad tip.
Don't do this.

Before it worked with 8.0.0.11 WITHOUT any workaround. Only the bug, which sets it's automatically to 60 Hz when entering the Samsung settings was active.

Have to test the workaround when I am back home this evening

check update is back to non stop spinning at 8.0.0.10 so i manually updated to 8.0.0.11 and it's still endlessly spinning
as soon as I read your post went to check for the update you mentioned, I was not aware that it was one available, then clicked on update, but it did not downloaded it, the culprit in my case was Adguard, I turned it off and the update was carried on, maybe something like this is interfering your update in your case

I have it whitelisted in my adguard so that's not the problem, even if i disable adguard it spins.

What happened to the battery enhancement mod you included not too long ago? It worked great and now I'm noticing it is gone. I'm on the newest update and paid premium but now it doesn't exist anymore and that was like one of the best features of your app

Hey! How's it going? Thanks for the amazing app!
Question, I'm using the psm on screen-off, is it supposed to turn psm back off when screen is turned on? Because if so, it's not working properly on Android 13, one ui 5.0. It keeps psm turned on even with screen on

Good afternoon. I noticed that the application does not lower the frequency in adaptive mode to 24. By regular means, I watch the frequency through the developer mode, it constantly jumps. And very often it costs 120. When you set the lower threshold to 10, everything works stably, but there is a delay in the swipe. Android 13 SM-S908E. Version 8.0.0.11

24Hz min settings is just the stock samsung implementation.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
With the new 8.0.0.11 update the 120hz adaptive mode is usable in power save mode again with one ui 5.0. Without any workaround.

Thanks a lot

BUT open the setting menu on s22 and open display menu rests the adaptive mode to standard again. Every time. Even without changing the the adaptive or standard option in OneUI.
Hmm, this doesn't seem to be working on my S22U. 120Hz still not usable with PSM.

I have a few issues with this. As a developer, it's always nice seeing things posted on github as I can contribute and make it better. However, while it's posted on github, it's basically only hosted there and not open source. Using the app, I can only see it's use for tweaking the minimum and max refresh rate when on adaptive, as when on power saving, it doesn't even do what it advertises. Ontop of this, you charge $3.49 for premium features, when in the trial, I can't even change refresh rate during power saving which was the main reason I wanted this app.

Since this app is basically a settings changer that messes with system configuration, I can't see its price point justified
.. Considering that for the only thing that I want it to change, it won't successfully do. The bug with it not applying on power savings, where it's literally all I wanted from this app really makes it not worth for me.

The nail in the coffin is that if I pay $3.5 it's only per one device. Meaning if I: Lose my phone, get a new phone, or upgrade to a new phone... I will lose my premium plan.

I hope you can use this to change your app for the better as right now I'm slightly dissapointed, especially with there being bugs while charging money. I respect your contribution however, and hope that you make it better! Thank you!

Hey mate you need to enable the adb command. In Android 13 you need to use the workaround cause Samsung fixed the Bug this app was using. On my s22ultra exynos and s22 ultra snapdragon and my s21ultra exynos its working without Problems. I use the dex workaround but im also debloated you need to enable every dex Service to make it working. Then Start dex, close dex and voila 120hz or 96hz adaptive in powersaver Mode :)

Is there no way to get it working without adb? Thank you for letting me know in the first place sir.

This is a pretty harsh post, even though you are trying to give constructive criticism, it just comes off a little rude and based on YOUR personal opinions.

You said you only feel this app is useful for changing min and max refresh rate. This is simply note true, it also has per-app settings, which means you can change the refresh rate of any individual app. It provides a refresh rate monitor at the top panel of your screen that is always active, so you don't have to enable the one in developer settings which is huge and ugly. It lowers the AOD to 10 Hz. It enables power saving mode when the screen is off. It disables auto-sync, has a quick doze mode, a protect battery mod, and a network speed indicator.

I use all of these features with no issue on my Snapdragon S22 Ultra 512GB/12GB running Android 13/One UI 5. I also bought the premium version. I also enabled adb authorization by reading the first post in this thread by the creator.

Most of your gripes are from your own personal experience, because I have the same phone and see no problems. I don't use power saving mode ever on my phone, so I don't care for changing the refresh rate while in PSM. But like the user above stated, there is a workaround.

This app and post was created since February 2022 and everyone else seems to be enjoying it and paid for the premium with no issues. I've been using the premium since it came out and never had a problem, the app creator quickly provides updates to bugs and is very active.

What you are describing is a SAMSUNG issue, it's not his fault that the developers patched the bug which enabled him to workaround PSM. Trying having some patience. Also, you are on an XDA thread and didn't even give the app full adb permissions before bashing it.

Isn't that just temporary though? Like if you turn power saver off and on again... It reverts to max 60hz, no?
I've been looking into it the past few days, it seems that all that these apps do is just using android.provider.Settings.Secure to change your phone settings to allow lower or more custom refresh rates. So unless you can make a signal for when power mode is turned on or off, it would need to be reapplied every single time.

The best alternative for me so far is just making my own that has a signal listening for when power mode is on or off.

It's automatic before oneUi5.
You don't know the history of the app (or even read the app description in the opening post).

    v8.1.0 update
-New setting: refresh rate for low battery state.
    3
Is that available yet? I was on 8.0.11 and had to manually update to 8.0.16 as it was stuck on auto update from within app
Sorry I missed to include a link.
Yes, it's already available. Some with prior versions experience the same issue in communicating to the backend but that should already fixed in 8.0.16. Did you recheck update with 8.0.16?
Here's the link for v8.1.0 if needed.

Hello .. Google Maps is not shown in the list of applications.
do you mean it is not shown in the per app settings? because I do see it listed there, not as google maps, just as "maps"

    About this app:

    Refresh Rate Mods

    • Change default refresh rates
-Easily change the overall refresh rate settings of devices supporting multiple refresh rates.
-Set supported mid refresh rates as the maximum refresh rate limit for battery savings (e.g. 96hz instead of 120Hz).
      -Quick settings shortcut
      -Tasker plugin support

    • Motion smoothness mode switcher(Normal, Adaptive or High)***
-Set you device motion smoothness mode to stationary refresh rates (high mode) for better smoothness if so desired on Samsung devices with native Adaptive motion smoothness with a little trade-off to the battery.
-Apply adaptive mod on device that don't natively support adaptive mode [premium]
      -Tasker plugin support

    • Per-app refresh rate settings:
Set different refresh rate settings for every app either adaptive or fixed(stationary) [premium].

    • Motion smoothness on power saving mode (not working to all devices with OneUI4.**+, test first). ***
-GMH will apply a workaround to bypass 60Hz limitation on Power Saving Mode (PSM) on supported Samsung smartphones.
-Automatically apply workaround when PSM is enabled [premium]

Note: Unfortunately this workaround is blocked and not working in OneUi5.0 on S22 Ultra
Please check this post for other workaround(s).

    Screen-off Mods:
    • Force to Lowest Hz
-Force the lowest refresh rate on screen-off or Always-On Display(AOD) to improve standby power consumption a bit.

-Select refresh rate to set for AOD/screen-off[premium]
      -Tasker plugin support.

    • Auto apply power saving mode during screen-off ***

    • Auto disable Autosync***

    • Quick-doze mod
      -
Quickly enter doze mode during screen-off that can not be interrupted by motion [premium]***
      -Tasker plugin support

    • Auto SENSORS OFF (experimental non-root workaround)
-Device sensors will automatically turn off while screen is off until the device is unlocked to help minimize battery-draining motion-triggered wakelocks while device is not being used [premium]
      -Tasker plug-in support
      - Supports up to OneUI4.* only

    Others
    • Battery protection mod (Experimental)
-Option to set maximum charge to 86%-95%(for OneUI4+)[premium]

    • Quick resolution switcher
-Easily switch to any supported resolutions using the included quick setting tile***
      -Tasker plugin support

    • Customizable refresh rate monitor
      -
Use statusbar or overlay which you can place anywhere on screen.
      -Tasker plugin support

    • Net speed statusbar indicator

OneUI inspired UI. Dynamic theme and Icon. Manual language selection

Note: The premium license is on a per device basis (not per user).

***these marked features require a one-time ADB procedure (this is not root)

Galaxy Max Hz background service is highly optimized. Background battery usage p is very negligible .

    Info:
This app targets older android sdk in order to control refresh rates without ADB setup or root. Just tap OK the dialog that says "This app was built for an older version of Android...." when opened for the first time. If OK button is not visible, just tap the blank space on the lowest portion of the dialog.

If google play protect will prompt during install that the app is built for older version of android and doesn't include the latest privacy protections, you can ignore it and proceed to the installation. For privacy related concern, please refer to FAQ No. 3.

Just installed official Android 13 with Oneui 5 and it seems like i don't have the possibility anymore to keep the refreshrate at 120 hz when in battery saving mode. Any fixes?
Oneui 5.0 /Android 13 arrived yesterday. Give our friend tribalfs some time. Dont know if He has the Update yet...
Seriously, some people are so impatient.

I am sorry for this bad news. OneUI5 already patched the bug (a good and welcome bug) that is being used by GMH to bypass 60 Hz limitation. We didn't know yet if we can find another one we can use to automatically bypass 60 Hz limit.

The good news is, the following extra step remains working based on our test:
    (1) Doing a dummy video call to any number using the native video calling app (unfortunately, availability is based on the telco/sim support) or
    (2) Connecting and disconnecting to an external display using Smart View or Samsung Dex
Not the most convenient but this maybe useful for some.

    Hi
This software is for older Android unfortunately.

    View attachment 5557133
Unfortunetly you didn't read the readme or the OP of this thread. Otherwise you would know this is done "by design". The app targets lower Android versions in order to save you from having to use adb/root for most of it's functions.

Please check v8.0.0-alpha7 update. Thank you.

Does this version fix android auto bug?

    Had a few thoughts:
    1. Is it possible to have an ON/OFF switch in the app?
    2. Is is possible to bypass certain apps from reducing hz? like when watching a youtube video, the framerate should not drop
I think it's fixed. Never occured on my testing.
    1. Let me check
    2. Per-app setting currently in the works
