I think 96 hz has higher brightness threshold on S22+. That is set by samsung and unfortunately beyond control of the app.

do you mean it is not shown in the per app settings? because I do see it listed there, not as google maps, just as "maps"

Yes, it's already available. Some with prior versions experience the same issue in communicating to the backend but that should already fixed in 8.0.16. Did you recheck update with 8.0.16?

Hey @tribalfs, so I'm on the newest alpha and in adaptive mode if I set my max hz limit to 96hz, the screen seems to only max out at 60hz. It won't go up to 96hz but if I set it back to 120hz it works fine. Seems to only be an issue when set to a max of 96hz in adaptive mode. Even when scrolling and trying to force it to go up to its maximum 96hz, it seems to be stuck between my lowest setting and 60hz. Just wanted to make you aware of this bug.
I put a screenshot up, not that that helps you diagnose anything but that screenshot is me touching the screen while taking the screenshot so it should be showing 96hz but as you can see on the overlay, it's stuck at 60hz.

Actually this has been ask few times already. Try to increase brightness a bit. Your device might have higher brightness threshold for 96Hz. This is done by Samsung to reduce visible color shifts and/or brightness flickers which our eyes are more sensitive on darker environments. That threshold is set by the manufacturer depending on the display calibration. Unfortunately, it is not something an app can override/modify.
Sorry, that was a noob mistake on my end. I should have searched the thread before posting that but regardless thanks for the reply, I'll give it a try.
Updates from within the app does not work for me. I am on 8.1.0 and all i get is spinning 4 dots. Previously i was on 8.0.11 and had the same issue. Is there any workaround for that?
Try to force close the app and re-open. Also check if you are using a vpn that may block the app connection to the backend.
I had spinning wheel while on . 11 then manually updated to 8.1.0 and now nothing happens when I click update. @tribalfs no vpn and tried fc the app

I recommend to set DEFAULT minimum hz to 24 Hz just use the per-app settings to set app individual refresh rate settings to your liking including those you want to set minimum hz to 10Hz.
Autosync off option only disables autosync while screen is off but re-enables it once screen is on again.1
The app cannot be published in play store. Please read FAQ #1 for related details.
This warning is also about accessibility service enabled (i.e. it doesn't matter if it's installed from play store or not).
You can use the app without enabling the accessibility service but that will also disable the features that rely on it.1
You have to uninstall Game Optimizing Service and Game Booster. Cod Mobile is being throttled by those apps. Cod Mobile runs at 120 for me, or even at 96hz if I set it, on my S22 Ultra Snapdragon with the latest Galaxy Max Hz version.
Before I uninstalled those apps, it would only run at 30 and 601
You may not be able to uninstall GOS, so just disable it.
You can uninstall the other game related apps.
Make sure your settings in CODM is set to Ultra frame rate. -

Galaxy Max Hz background service is highly optimized. Background battery usage p is very negligible .

This app targets older android sdk in order to control refresh rates without ADB setup or root. Just tap OK the dialog that says "This app was built for an older version of Android...." when opened for the first time. If OK button is not visible, just tap the blank space on the lowest portion of the dialog.
If google play protect will prompt during install that the app is built for older version of android and doesn't include the latest privacy protections, you can ignore it and proceed to the installation. For privacy related concern, please refer to FAQ No. 3.

I am sorry for this bad news. OneUI5 already patched the bug (a good and welcome bug) that is being used by GMH to bypass 60 Hz limitation. We didn't know yet if we can find another one we can use to automatically bypass 60 Hz limit.
The good news is, the following extra step remains working based on our test:
(1) Doing a dummy video call to any number using the native video calling app (unfortunately, availability is based on the telco/sim support) or
(2) Connecting and disconnecting to an external display using Smart View or Samsung Dex
Not the most convenient but this maybe useful for some.7
Unfortunetly you didn't read the readme or the OP of this thread. Otherwise you would know this is done "by design". The app targets lower Android versions in order to save you from having to use adb/root for most of it's functions.6
