I made it specific for the ge ROMs as they don't have options in settings. But it will work on others. I'm sure they have the settings though lol. Which ROM are you thinking of?

Nothing specific. I've just seen others asking for the same thing so I wanted to see if linking them here was possible. No worries. Thanks :good:

I hate the back lights being on.I love to just see pure screen.I also painted the Samsung logo and the ear piece and the home button areas that are silver. So now my phone is plush black .I have the black model. Looks clean like a nexus. Thanks goggle ROM.

Thanks, been looking for a possibility to turn off the lights permanently and not just until the next restart of the phone. But now I have the icon of your app in my app browser. Is there and easy way to hide it? I Just have to do the setting once and then I don't need it anymore.

Thanks for making this program.

It didn't fix the issue I was having --- On M919 Tmobile ROMs, the soft keys come on any time you touch the screen. I had an l337M and the keys only come on when you touch them. Is there any way to restore this functionality? I hate having to choose between keeping them on all the time, or off... (I know that wasn't why you wrote this program, but I'm hoping you or someone could point me in the right direction...)

Honestly, not trying to be rude, but.. doesnt that sort of defeat the whole purpose? If you touch the buttons when the lights are off, you obviously know where they are, so why turn on the lights? Lol. Not trying to be rude.. just a thought i had.

I know what you're saying, but that's the default behaviour on the l337M's (At least on Rogers). I read some reviews where someone mentioned the same thing... I don't mind it though. It's better then having them on all the time.

Ok root did the trick. :)

This is EXACTLY what I've been looking for, thanks! I am running stock 4.3 Google Ed. on my AT&T S4 and wanted to use the onscreen nav buttons mod. The onscreen button build.prop mod worked well, but it was annoying have the capacative lights still light up when I tapped the onscreen buttons.

Would anyone happen to know how to disable them completely?

Thanks!! Greatly appreciated!

And to disable the buttons completely, there is a file under /system/usr/keylayout

That needs editing. Can't remember which one exactly. A lot of people actually remap them to other functions to get more use out of them.
