I have a note 2 with beanstown 4.3 rom. I got wallet to install and to register tap and pay. In "about "it says that im ready to tap and pay.
I tried using it today at a quickcheck in NJ but the terminal would not read the phone. I'll try it at the next place that I see a paypass. Any ideas though why it wouldn't work? How long must I hold the phone there? Can my seidio case be the problem?
Also. I do have the verizon nfc sim installed. I will eventually try my old sim but from what ive read the nfc sim will give an error in wallet. I have no errors, just the phone isnt communicating with the terminal

Did you open Wallet up before touching the phone to the machine? I forgot to do that the first couple of times.

Yes I did. However the wallet instructions say that you only need to wake the screen on the phone. I think There's a sunoco with pay pass by our house. I'll try there tomorrow morning.

Well, all I know is that not only did I have to wake my phone up, but I had to start the app and enter the four digit pin code so I'd be inside the Wallet app before doing it.

I'm jeleous. Theonly Coke machines I found seemed to only work with Isis as they gave me a message that I had to pay with cash. :(

Finally able to test this out. The Coke machines here on campus actually have tap & pay, lol. Worked perfectly! :highfive:

How can you tell if a machine accepts only isis? Is it branded differently?

Using the isis/nfc sim card will cause issues with wallet, even if wallet setups up all the way it should fail making the transaction. Wallet wants to use the secure element in the phone. The isis sim has SE on the card that overrides the internal SE.

I have always opened wallet and entered pin before trying to tap to pay. You should only have to touch your phone to the machine for about 1 second or less. There are a few cases that are known to cause issues. Especially ones that replace the battery cover since it has the contacts for nfc. Some places that have the pay pass machines don't have them hooked up. Also I have never heard of an isis only coke machine, but it doesn't mean they don't exist.

It's been over a month since I was there, and it's not the closest of places to go back and look. But, as I remember the digital screen said "Pay with Isis" or something along those lines when it scrolled across, Over by the paper bill receptor. I'm doing that from memory. So it might've been somewhere else on it.

Now, when I see a vending machine I always look to see if it has PayPass on it just so I can try it out. Guess it's like looking for a four leaf clover or the Holy Grail. :)

it works!

Ok so today I tried it another quick check. No dice. I then put my old sim card in and tried it at rite aid. It worked! Ill try again at quick check but I have a gut feeling that their pay pass is just not enabled on the credit card machines

You really don't want it to work without logging into Wallet with your PIN first, though. Otherwise anyone could steal money from you just by setting your phone down on a hidden NFC tag and waking the phone.
Google wallet says that your phone needs to be awake for it to work. You still need to unlock wallet with your PIN. You can set the timeout period of your PIN to meet your needs

Originally you said you were using a nfc sim card which would block wallet from working.

Follow the directions from the OP on page one. Just push the files to the specified directory. Then download and flash the keys
For touchwiz. You can find the download for those keys right on the first page. The OP has provided them

So the tap and pay is definitely working. I used it yesterday at a liquor store. What I do find dissapointing is that many stores that have tap and pay registers have the tap and pay or paypass disabled. Home depot has tap and pay but paypass is not accepted. Quick checks have paypass but the readers are turned off. Staples readers are completely off. . Im sure theres many other large retail chains doing the same.

Ok. After just re reading the OPs post I can see how this can be confusing because it seems that there are several methods that he provides. I guess I just got lucky.

I'd copy and paste the directions step by step but apparently copy and paste is ruined with this garbage verizon rom that random reboots at least 3 times a day which I'm extremely sick of. .. Can't wait till they release another fix. .. If not in going to CM

You need to follow the link that says latest google wallet can be found "here"(click on "here") there you will find a thread which has a download and directions which tell you to use root explorer to copy those files to a specific folder. Dont forget to change your permissions inside root explorer.

after that you can download the keys which the op has posted. (Go back to the first page of this thread and click "show more" thats where youll find the download for the keys) You'll have to flash that via twrp or rom manager

and thats it. Its actually very easy. Way easier than any other method ive seen.

thanks to the OP for posting this!

In the OP where it says Latest Wallet click where it says show spoiler and there is the link for a zip that has the libs and hacked wallet. Flash that, setup wallet, go spend money.

Uninstall whatever wallet you have before flashing.

If you leave your build.prop as nexus the s pen doesn't work. At least it didn't use to, I forgot. If you use the zip with the hacked wallet you don't have to change build.prop

I reset my build prop and flashed the zip but now it says tap and pay unavailable
