Okay, I'll try and post a screen recording.

It is a clean install as I have been using Vanced until a couple of days back.

The termux method doesn't prevent the issue but you can simply restore it by mount it back. Check here. For Revancify support check here.
If that is a big issue, you better use the non root version along with microG.

I see. I was under the impression that revancify via termux prevented this behavior. Thanks. I think I'll stick with normal revanced or even revert back to non-root because frankly I can't be bothered to restore it every few days.

Cast is not working on non root version. You can only connect it via tv youtube code but videos will open on the stock youtube on ur tv with ads and all these so doesn't make any sense. I had the button enabled just to check something. The button can be found settings > player > hide cast button.

Lol thanks but I don't do this for the money, it's just my hobby to help xda community whenever I have time and provide updated, organized and useful threads.
You can find infos in my xda profile but ReVanced Team and inotia00 worth more the donations as they are the developers of these projects, so you better donate to them to help them continue what they doing.

The auto brightness feature is thankfully present. This is very useful when viewing YouTube in the dark. On Vanced YouTube, the app would keep last manual brightness setting, which can sometimes cause a 'shock' to the eyes when switching to full screen mode. Thank you for this feature.

Is it possible to enable this with a single switch? Currently, one has to disable the experimental flag 'enable save brightness'.

I don't use the version of android 6.0-7.1, I just built it with all the Recommended patches for users who didn't had a device with A8.0+.

Np, here is the GitHub of ReVanced Extended for Android 6.0-7.1. Open an issue there but keep in mind this is a port for old android devices, so some patches may miss intentionally because he couldn't make them work but you lose nothing to ask.

I am not sure what you mean, you want a toogle in player to switch whenever you want? Because as you said there is already an option in Settings. In any way you better open an issue in inotia's github for feature requests

I had to figure out how to make the auto brightness setting stick. The settings are a bit confusing.

Shorts don´t work on my device Huawei P40 Pro Emui 10. MicroG v0.2.27.230755 installed.
When I try to play Shorts, they get somehow stuck and I can see the circle loading. If I play a normal video and than try the same short it works, but not everytime. Testet it with Revanced, Revanced Extended both latest Version.

I'm facing weird issue since last few updates.. app is not taking my touches and has transparent layer like thing on it when I'm on the app homepage. But when I launch the app using any other options like shorts It works fine, when I switch back to the app home page issue comes back.

I remember this issue started occurring from the version auto

today i open my youtube revanced official made myself worked yesterday and it is frozen, and dimmed screen. closin, uninstalling, inszalling but same..
try to uninstall all microg and ytb and install again?

edit, uninstalled, reinstalled again, fail too.

without microg and sign in it works..

I think's it's already reported to revanced team, press the back button when u get that layer for now, it's a bug.
