I thought they fixed the subtitles in wrong place at v2.167.1. Apparently the issue is back, try to report it on Discord/Github.

I think's it's already reported to revanced team, press the back button when u get that layer for now, it's a bug.

This issue is very weird. I installed non-root version along with the module version as I got fed up of the issue and now this issue is not occurring in the module version for some reason.

Ok, here comes my questions

In the guide, I read to install first microG, then revanced manager, then NOT install the youtube apk, while in the Revanced page on XDA it says to avoid MicroG if my ROM comes with Google Mobile Services. My ROM is PE+12, how do I get this information, please?

Also, I am reading the part "install revanced" for root users, in the very end, I find
Alternative, easy installation for root with the unofficial but legit j-hc/ReVanced Magisk Module.
I went to the page where there are 13 assets, which one should I download to try the easier version through Magisk module?

@phaleg I move this conversation here since this is the right topic to ask.
The guide u are looking at, is specific for non-root users.
Stick with my xda guide. I don't think I say somewhere to avoid microG if your ROM comes with GMS. Instead I say to use microG if your ROM does not coming with GMS (for root users). Your ROM has GApps build-in since it's "Pixel Experience" so you have GMS.
For the Magisk module you need the youtube-revanced-magisk-v18.15.40-all.zip and mindetach-v3.3.zip.

Keep in mind, root version of revanced has an issue which at random time/ usually after reboot, the app disappears. You better stick with the non-root version if you are just casual user and don't wanna mess with it.

I use on 3 rooted smartphones non-root version of yt revanced (+microg) and I don't see a reason why I should use root version. Works well, without issues.

Me too. I'm still wondering why people break their head trying to make the root version work when the non-root version not only works perfectly, but also allows users to use both apps (official and non-root vanced) concurrently.

Any news about the closing on locked phone on huawei? The last youtube vanced stopped working yesterday and all tested revanced versions closes itself on the huawei p20 after 1min on a locked phone :/

On Huawei try this:

• Go Settings > Apps >Special access (at the top right corner) > Battery Optimization > Disable microG (means to not get optimized)
• Then Go to Settings > Apps > Autostart Applications (or something like that) > find microG and disable automatic management. (leave enabled only "secondary startup" and "running in background")

The names of the settings may not be exactly like that but similar, I don't have Huawei device.

io and other sites like this are mentioned multiple times here on xda, on reddit/discord/telegram etc. should be avoided.
These random websites are either malware/scammy, or they pretend to be "official" and earn money via ads on their site etc.

The only official apk is the ReVanced Manager from the Official ReVanced GitHub which can be used to build revanced by yourself and this is the recommended way.

Just a correction to your post, My apks here are unofficial as any other pre-built apk but are clean and I wrote the reasons which I provide them here -in xda community- multiple times. (Can be found at "Read this" in download post)

Just moved into Revanced after being a long time user of vanced, I'm glad to see the revanced manager is available even if it's in the alpha stages, i had to get it. Mayor kudos for the continued development and support of this app.
