Shorts don´t work on my device Huawei P40 Pro Emui 10. MicroG v0.2.27.230755 installed.
When I try to play Shorts, they get somehow stuck and I can see the circle loading. If I play a normal video and than try the same short it works, but not everytime. Testet it with Revanced, Revanced Extended both latest Version.

hi , so i have some questions, i want to build myself again revanced ext, but i'm reading that in order to update,im using the pc to use rvx builder, and i will lose my settings, so in order to update im seeing that i have to delete my existing build and reinstall the new one, also im seeing options to export my settings, if i build again with the new YT apk, can i import my settings to the new apk? thanks and sorry for my bad written explanations i'm in a rush and english isn't my mother language

It worked?

I uninstalled all ytb, microg, all except manager. Force closed manager and wipe its cache.
Redownloaded 18.15.40 youtube apk from apkmirror and then from start recompiled and installed from manager directly (earlier i exported apk to my internal storage and than installed)
Not there is no issue with dimmed screen, touch issues and i dont have to swipe back. From patches i just excluded custom branding icon.
Now is good.

Sounds like the usual buffering/playback issue, however it's strange normal videos playing fine and shorts not.
Go to Settings > Misc and make sure spoof is enabled.

You can update fine if you use the same key you signed your currently installed app.
In any case in ReVanced Extended you can export 90% of the settings and import them after a clean install.

I don't know what I did wrong but , the app didn't update the previous one, so I exported the settings to my SD card , then I patched the new version of YouTube using rvx , installed it , but I wasn't able to import the settings, the file is greyed out, so I had to manually select my preferences again. What did I do wrong?

Honestly no idea. Every time I tried export & import worked fine. What format your file had? It should be .json

Everything works like a charm except for one thing.

Swipe down to exit full-screen videos. I used to do this just fine on previous versions of Revanced. Youtube upgraded several days ago, and this feature is gone from ALL YouTube variants (the official Google app, Revanced, etc).

I am specifically using a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3.

Anyone else encountered something similar? Screen recording of the (undesired) behavior attached.

I tried in ReVanced & Extended and both exit the full screen by swiping down.
Do you use Extended and tablet layout setting?
Did you tried to clean install the app? Does this happening if you go back to previous version?

Uninstall the Instagram app you already have installed.

For me ReVanced Extended has been much more buggy than just ReVanced. Things like the in player copy URL buttons just copying a https:://youtu.be/ with no video ID, layout issues, random crashes (rare but once a week), videos randomly playing without audio, swipe controls being unreliable in full screen, history sometimes failing to update, the list goes on. I never had these issues with ReVanced. Anything I can do to fix it? not sure if I can be bothered and might just go to ReVanced but extended has some neat features like hiding comments, playlist panels in full screen automatically

You should provide specific and detailed description for each of your problem and open an issue in GitHub of RVX or ask in their Telegram group.
But accordingly to your words would be easier to just switch to ReVanced if you don't face these issues there too.

I used the prebuilt APK from here actually, Pixel 4a, Android 11, root. I last patched it manually a bit back but had similar issues. Also another bug, when opening the search bar gboard comes up then goes away and I have to click the field again. doesn't happen in other apps

First time I hear all those issues and as I said I personally don't have these.
I would suggest you to go to your phone:

• Settings > Apps > find and delete anything related to ReVanced like Vanced MicroG+ReVanced app.
• Redownload the latest vanced microg+revanced extended apk.
• Reboot your device.
• Install Vanced MicroG+ReVanced Extended.
• Set RVX as default YouTube app to open yt links.
• Login from RVX via microG and check.

If you still have the same issues, as I said you should open an issue at GitHub or ask in their Telegram group but I doubt you will find any other answer since most people don't have these issues.

Otherwise switch to ReVanced if you don't face these issues there.

Why are there sooo many different versions of this app? I mean, for us, simple users, the page that shows the downloads, seems so confusing, because you don't know finally what you need to download from all of these and what not. Why don't you make a simple apk that will be like vanced, so that you can install from that one then, the main things that user wants, as it was in the past? I want Youtube and youtube music and that's it. What do I have to install finally, revanced simple, revanced extended, revanced whatever? I feel confused and I can't read 68 pages of thousands of messages, so I would apreciate it if you could tell me which apks I finally need.

Maybe try a RVX magisk module. I build one on the base of J-hc's one and it's working well.
