Remove the Module you have now and install the latest Extended module by @Wolfcity. I changed the link at OP recently and replaced the Extended module from No-Name.exe to Wolfcity builds since no-name had issues and I trust more wolfcity. Reference here.

Use Vanced MicroG for now. mMicroG by inotia00 is in early phase but working good as far I know.

That's the one I used prior which gave me the disconnected status.. So far the mMicroG is working, I'll update if it doesn't.

I like post 2 for YouTube revanced extended (no root). Never any issues for me. I even use it now for IG, cause I can't understand otherwise how to make revanced IG.

There's not much to do about MicroG.
You can disconnect from settings-accounts, reboot and connect from there again. It's a bit trial and error.

Uninstall everything from your device (microG+revanced) > reboot your device and your rooter (not necessary but if possible do it) > install latest Vanced MicroG by inotia00 > Install ReVanced or Extended > login. Go to Battery Optimization settings on your device and exclude microG for being optimized.
Let me know if you have any issue with notifications afterwards.

Is there a list of the differences between the old Vanced MicroG vs the new ReVanced MicroG? I'm still using the old Vanced MicroG for ReVanced Extended (works perfectly so I have no reason to update to the actual ReVanced MicroG, but I am curious as to what is different).

MicroG is like google play services supstitute. But small version used comonly in custom roms.

Old microg vanced was modded to work with vanced youtube.

Since MicroG is a standard project, it can be also modded to work with revanced and other apps.
So new microg is new platform for google signing in. Try it. If it works without issues, use it. For me works without issues..

It seems like the biggest difference is that the root version doesn't require microG. Is that a significant advantage?

TBH, I have no clue what microG does - I understand that it replaces Google Play Service, but should I be concerned about how it impacts other applications?

Sorry I am very clueless and looking for the easiest way to install / maintain Revanced Extended. Unless there is a good reason for going the rooted install method, or downside for installing microG, I am tempted to install microG and just install with the APK.

As I said it seems to working fine but my personal recommendation to avoid confusion is users to stick to Vanced MicroG for now.
Huawei users can't use mMicroG to login. So there is no rush for people to switch atm since Vanced MicroG working fine and also is "universal" and debloated from all these unnecessary options (for revanced) mMicroG has.
Both working fine but my recommendation to casual/Huawei users is to stick to Vanced MicroG -for now-.

The only root "advantage" I see is the casting. microG doesn't have any serious impact to the device. A disadvantage for root users is from time to time the app dissappears usually after reboot and u need to mount it back or reinstall.
microG doesn't replace your whole Google Play Services, just revanced app will go through microG to work properly not all your apps, there is nothing to worry about and also you can use a burned gmail if you are afraid for your main account.

• If you are already rooted then you can use any of the Magisk Module at OP (my suggestion is to use Extended Magisk Module by @Wolfcity).
• If you are not rooted, don't root only for this, there is no reason, just use microG+revanced.
