Update 1.1:
- The app now uses another API that seems to be working a lot better;
- The app uses Bing Maps to show the latitude and longitude of the server/router (IPLookUp will check whether you are in the United States or not, since the API always gives a dot to make decimals, and depending on your location Bing will want a comma;
- Icon added
--------------------

IPLookUp is a simple application that was developed to find the location (country and city) of any IP-address you can throw at it using an API.

This application is my first WP7 app developed in C#, using a tutorial from XDA, so it's very basic, but it does the job.

Please let me know what you think of the app and what features I should add to it!

Nice, but app doesn't show location even the my current IP address (others too) - screen. In the marketplace is such an application, even showing the position on the map: IPChecker
It's just a very basic application using a free and (as far as I've seen recently: not so good) API, so I'll be updating that.

About the fact the location isn't found: I suspect you weren't on a WiFi-network and just using cellular? For some reason that doesn't seem to work either.. Stupid free API's eh?!

EDIT
Ok now I tried with "normal" IP adress and:
IPLookUp doesn't show:

The same IP adress and IPChecker - showed all informations:
Huh.. That's VERY weird!
I'll find a decent API first thing in the morning, thanks for the discovery!

Thank you so much! I'll try to find another API that can show the provider name as well.
If you have some more tips, don't mind sharing them! :)

Man, THX. Work good with map. (+) x 2 First post and UPD.
Thank you.
You could add option to show internet provider name.
