update: my idea didn't work as expected.
still stuck at the same problem, dex2oat always gives this error:

Unrecognized version number in /data/media/0/LGCameraApp_kk3.apk: 0 3 6

same with QuickRemote
i couldn't find anything about this error on google. have to do further testing...
and i asked TKruzze, the pa gapps dev for help

Not sure if it helps, but it contains the same error (well, close to the same). It has the "Unrecognized version number:"

i was already thinking about this. but AFAIK xdabbeb wanted to port this himself to custom roms. I could help him out and there would be no need for my camera anymore.
anyways i don't wanna do something until i get my hands on the official LG 4.4 camera app...
right now i'm still busy with figuring out how to get it to work on ART

It doesn't look like xdabbeb is working on the AOSP port, so it'd be great if you were able to do this at some point . Thanks for this mod!

I tried installing LGCameraApp_kk3.apk on a D800 running PA 4.4.2 (12/16 build), and I just get an "App not installed" error at the end.

are you running ART? can't install this app with ART unfortunately. Dev is working on it.

I get a force close when I try to use the front facing camera to record a MMS video. Used both Hangouts and stock messaging. VS980 on Gummy's latest nightly.

got the 4.4 apk. it's an update from 4.0.41 to 4.5.6.
going to fix the force closes. still many lg functions left.
as far as i have seen LG still uses the LG way of transparent status/navbar
please give me a few days...
