great fuckin app metrobrowser a little bit of a slow start but runs fine on my htc hd7 7720 GOOD WORK Marvin_S i will keep u posted on any problems

It's like when we put too loud a speaker, a bad speaker, it sizzles.

I had the problem with Episode 02 Season 10 of Family Guy and with another in 720p.

I'll make more tests tomorrow, I'm not at home tonight

yes Ive noticed this issue.

The problem is all flvs say they have a sample rate of 44100 hz. However most megavideo files need to be played at 48000 otherwuse the audio will be weird and slow. However some others will stutter and need to be on 44100 :S I have not yet found a way to seperate these files. Im just doing a guess now, which is far from ideal and can result in problems, but its better than a fixed value.
But Im working on this and I also have mp3 audio playback support so fixed a lot of the audio issues

I just want to report that today we made some great improvements with the audio parsers.

We have AAC audio and MP3 audio fully working now. We found a way to get the correct samplerate so there is no more guessing involved. All FLV files with AAC audio or MP3 audio should playback correctly now. In case of any files with corrupted audio playback, please check if the same file will play accurately on the pc than send it to us for further investigation.

The updated beta version will drop soon. Please keep your eye on this thread.

Also we are open to logo/icon designs, so in case any designer is interested please let us know.

today I have had time to test the beta snickler has sent to me and I have to say that I´m impressed.

Some videos don´t play (codec not supported), some videos play a little bit laggy but most play flawlessly.

Great idea is the hidden address bar.

Will it be possible to extend the .flv support to all websites ? That would be great.

Looking forward to the next beta.

We fixed the audio issues for the next release!

Also we added support for more websites.

Adding support for all flv's is technically not possible, since flv files are often hidden behind an swf/flash player. We take over the job of this flash player (since it does not work on IE9 mobile of course) there is no way to decompile this flash player to find the source, so instead we analyze the website and look for ways to find the source files. This is tricky and has to be customized for every website unfortunately. This is why we support the following list:

Putlocker**,
Videoweed,
Videozer*,
VideoBB*,
MegaVideo/Upload/Porn,
NovaMov*
SockShare*

* only available in the following version. Where ** will have video playback issues which will be solved in the version after next.

Also please note that FLV is such a large and flexible container it is close to impossible to support all files, thats why invalid codec messages appear, since these vids will not use standard video codecs.
If you find these messages often please report the source and we will analyze the video and see if we can implement it (this will take a considerable amount of time).

Also it doesn't only autohide the address bar but the menu bar too which is great.

I understood. As there is no general adope plugin for playing flash-videos this could be a lifetime job for you both... haha

So is it possible that you add my preferred german television site ?
It´s exactly as you described the link to the video files is behind a flashplayer-plugin.

I mean adding user requested site support should be donated, so after having fixed the general problems you could add a "user requested site support only by donating" section which should not be against the forum rules...

Anyway it´s great step forward. Thanks to both of you.

Oke if you gonna pay 60+ hours of development ill remove the ad for you

If you are a beta tester, your job is to test it and provide usefull feedback. Sure you can make suggestions but what you are suggesting has already been explained before and as being said a beta is not a final release. We can also start a paid private beta without ads, yet we dont because we want everybody to be able to test this for free. So please respect our choice, we are not forcing you to use it, nor to join the beta. If you like it we are happy to supply you the app, if you dont like it and want to uninstall it, thats ok, its your device. If its just for the ad, its our tiny bit of income (and im an unemployed student atm).

An ad free version will come when it will arrive in the marketplace (approx 3 weeks).

Oke we improved the behaviour of the pull down of the addressbar.

Also we implemented a select all when you click the addressbar

So hopefully we can also implement favorites for the next release.

Tabs will follow in a later release.

For now we have enough testers (about 100) unfortunately only a handfull gave us feedback. The private beta is closed now as we are working to a first release. Expect it to be out in a week or to. We are fixing bugs and adding som small features.

We will keep you updated on the progress.
