I'm so thankful to have this mod, one of my favorites. I was browsing around and found this post...

http://rootzwiki.com/showthread.php?t=605

and really liked the second set of icons he used. So i kanged them and added them to the zip posted here.

Attached is a screen shot of the new icons on pete's rom. also attached is a flashable zip, no signature.

How did you get it to work with Petes ROM? I've tried and I just get stuck at the google screen. I've tried everything and all different ways of flashing even packaging the mod into Petes ROM. Didn't work. Maybe you did something I, missed.

Looks like cause theres no signature if his code matches mine, I'm sure it does, the signature will be the issue

Is there anyone who has the original system ui mod I released that worked on the 2.3.4. Nexus s non 4g? I over wrote the file on the server

I don't have the whole flashable ZIP, but I THINK I have the SystemUI.apk from it (was poking around).

I am pretty sure it's the original one you released, I don't recall doing anything with later releases.

Hey dreams...

I've have tried installing this on my ns4g over both cm7 nighties and petes ROM, both unsuccessfully. Each time I got a force close on the status bar and had to restore a nandroid.

The last time I tried was about a month ago and i've been using the stock widget since, but its been eating at me ever since. I followed your directions to the t.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, gotcha. I'm gonna try this other version floating around that isn't signed.

I swear, I read these forums every day and seem to miss information that answers my question nearly ever time. Sorry to bother you...

As an FYI, the un-signed gave me a force close as well. Oh well...will just wait for your ROM to be finished and will then have the entire product.

I really love Pete's rom for its stock and speed, but have come to the conclusion that there are certain "MODS" that I really just don't like being without...

EDIT: Force close on USB connect

dreamsforgotten, thanks!

I found your work on some other thread and tried it out on the BuglessPete GPA17 ROM for Nexus S. It had some errors with it, I fixed it up and have it working for the most part.

One little problem, if I clear cache and data then I am left without a status bar. Any ideas on what needs to be fixed so that does not happen? The same happens if I use the modified SystemUI.apk in a fresh install on ROM.

THanks!

The thread title is Status Bar Widgets for BuglessPete GPA17 Nexus S in this forum.

Oh ok I know what your talking about, the system is lenient to changes to system apps after the ROM is in place. But the initial flash, every thing has to match up exactly, the meta inf I believe also knows the md5sum of the package which changes after editing. The first flash the system knows the apk is modded and treats it as an unauthorized app
