Hello , since like ~5 updates, watched videos are not marked as watched anymore (red line). Anyone else having this issue ?

I'm having an issue where ever couple of days vanced gets replaced by the native YouTube app. I use the root version. I uninstall the default YouTube app then use the vanced manager app to install vanced. But in the system settings it's not recognized as "vanced" it shows up as YouTube. And for the first couple of days it's actually vanced with the vanced settings. Then it just changes to normal YouTube.

Root version will show as normal youtube with vanced icon.
The reason normal youtube replaces vanced is because it is auto updating in play store. Just turn off auto updates in play store and it won't get overwritten

Samsung M31 non rooted user here. After the OS update YT Vanced disappeared from the application list. When i tried to reinstall using vanced manager, this appear. Help please

Thanks I'll give it a try. But I do have auto updates disabled and it still happens. I installed the non root version and have not had this issue since.

• READ THIS IF YOU EITHER CAN'T LOGIN TO VANCED OR YTMUSIC or THEY ARE LOADING INDEFINITELY:

This is a bug with upstream microg. To solve it,

Written tutorial:
1. Uninstall both vanced microG & YouTube Vanced
2. Install vanced microG(latest)
3. Install YouTube Vanced (version: 15.43.32)/ YouTube Music Vanced (version 4.07.51)
[Click on install > click on arrow next to version > select anything except the first two options > save > Install]
4. Open YouTube Vanced then add an account
5. Open Vanced Manager
6. Then update YouTube Vanced (version: latest-16.02.35) / YouTube Music Vanced (version - 4.11.50)

If you aren't able to select versions:
1. Go to Vanced manager
2. Click on the 3 dot menu (top right corner)
3. Settings > clear downloaded files

It is a bug in upstream microG. Until it gets fixed, either downgrade back to an old version (v15.43.32) or use only one account till then.

Bug: vertical videos always play in very low quality even when manually choosing higher quality. Usually the first 3 seconds are acceptable quality but then forcibly plays in 240p or 144p. I compared directly to stock youtube app and the stock app always plays high quality and can switch to higher qualities manually. The bug happens in all version of vanced.

Only happens with vertical videos, and having preferred quality setting doesn't make any difference.

You won't get the same issue with Non-root Vanced as it doesn't have the same package name - It's a completely different app that happens to deliver YouTube content. Whereas root Vanced is YouTube.

I'm not sure exactly what is going on if you've turned off auto-updates, your app shouldn't be getting updated in that case. You say after a couple of days it is reverting to stock, what are you doing during those days? Are you rebooting? There was an issue that Vanced would be reverting to stock YouTube upon reboots it wa supposedly fixed but, if that's the issue you're experiencing then the fix has already been posted multiple times so just take a look through the thread, or search my posts because I've posted it a few times in here too.

Is something wrong with the installation of the root version lately? I installed it three weeks ago and it went fine, but today I resetted my phone and when I tried to install it, it failed.

It shows that it's downloading, but then the progress bar freezes until you get an error message that says that it failed for an unknown reason. Tried other versions and it kept failing as well.

I tried the non-root version and it installed correctly.

Device: Samsung Galaxy S7.
OS: Stock Android 8.0.

Did you have an official version of YouTube Vanced installed? This sounds like an issue that happens with some mods after Android 11 is installed.

I'm not sure exactly what is going on if you've turned off auto-updates, your app shouldn't be getting updated in that case.

It all seems logical, however, I know I tried turning off auto-updates a few years ago, and youtube still managed to get updated, more than once.

The auto update of YouTube was happening to me back in the days when Vanced was installed physically as a system app. there was no stock youtube to revert to. It was an extra install by the playstore over Vanced, not a removal of Vanced install. Vanced was still installed on the system partition.

You may just be very lucky and have something different in your device / ROM. I created a detach method which slowly built to around 25 steps / changes to stop YouTube updating. One of the first few was to automatically disable auto updates on youtube. That failed every time. I am not the only one this has happened to.

EDIT: almost forgot just turning off auto updates also means "Update All" is not an option.

Hi, I have a little problem. I downloaded nonroot 3 apk (2 were with apkmirror bundles) from apkmirror and I can use app without any vanced manager (i didnt use with e mail) but Im not sure was it safe ? In my used phone ( just for this app, no contacts or bank apps )has just gta sa and sd card some taken naturel landscape photos in normal storage (even dont using gmail account).
I tried app first and it stopped (its normal for manager and etc.) but with older apk after, it worked but more interesting thing is with after install the newest apk, the opening info as name of devs like older apks and it worked like older apk without any extras. I just used 3 minutes but does my sd card pics taken (copy) in 3 minutes or Im in safe ?
I installed with apkmirror bundles but I have old photos from my sd card and 4 photos were in a passport format so it makes me feel uncomfort. Phone works normal, just the samsung internet beta browser was a bit strange (maybe placebo). After deleted beta browser and using normal one, it worked as normal. I need an answer from Team Vanced, as like I said, no private data in phone, just sd card and pictures.

Since the last few versions, I can't upload a video. When I select the video, it keeps loading on the Video-Details.
It works with the normal YouTube App Version 15.26.34, but not with the newest one.

Are you trying to install the root version by mistake? The message about packaging means that you are trying to install a different version (different signature) than you had installed, not just an updated version.

There seems to be an issue with some apps disappearing when a phone is upgraded to Android 11, but I didn't have this issue with YouTube Vanced. If YouTube Vanced is uninstalled on your phone, Vanced Manager seems to be finding some remnent of it still installed, which could be difficult to correct on a non-rooted phone.
