QUESTION: Is there a setting somewhere that achieves ”OPEN ALL YOUTUBE LINKS IN YOUTUBE VANCED " ?

When I use voice search on my phone and get Google results, tapping on a YouTube video result will open that video in YouTube. I'm trying to see if there's a way to automatically open such search results in YouTube Vanced?

You can go and remove the default settings via system yt settings. Then next time you will be able to choose ytv.

Yes, it is possible.

1. Go to Settings/ Apps/ YouTube/ Advanced/ Open by Default: Clear Defaults. Then under 'Open Supported Links', choose 'Don't allow apps to open Links'.

2. Go to Settings/ Apps/ Vanced YouTube/ Advanced/ Open by Default: Under 'Open Supported Links', choose 'Allow apps to open supported Links'.

Hi I have Samsung Galaxy s10+(G975 F_Non rooted). I have installed youtube vanced (16.20.35) with help of vanced manager. Initially it was not working after updating with latest samsung update (patch 1May2021). It somehow start working. Bit now i can't cast anything with vanced app to my chromecast. However, chromecast working perfectly with default youtube app. When i try to cast it with vanced app it redirect to some play store page which always say try again. Any solution

N.B: I'M newbie and haven't experimented many things yet but wanna do so without bricking the phone.

Hi please search the forum before posting. The Chromecast feature is broken in the latest release for non-root version (in fact in all 16.xx.xx release).

The swype to seek feature. Is that the one that YouTube did for a while where you could run your finger across the screen to seek?

If so I think it's broken for me and I can't find it in settings anywhere.

The only other possibility is it's the old feature where you can drag the dot across the seek bar.

Nope.. swype to seek only work on progress bar (red line on the bottom of video). Normally you should be able to swype or tap on progress bar to jump into specific timeline. But in vanced latest version, it become swype only (I don't know whats the point of this change). Anyway you can re-enable tap option in vanced setting >> misc.

I prefer the swype to seek option through screen rather than only on progress bar.

I'm using Vanced YouTube v15.43.32 and microG v0.2.18.210500 and there are no problems whatsoever. Everything works, including casting.

Version 16.x was causing excessive battery drain and heating on my device, so had to revert Vanced YouTube to an older build.

Yes. And it doesn't happens all the time.. After watching some videos, my cpu temperature suddenly rising up out of nowhere.. Sometimes it doesn't. Wonder what causing these phenomenon exactly.

I remember this being an option in the actual youtube app release. I'm guessing it's not built into vanced yet.

This combination let's me cast without issue...
YouTube Vanced: 16.02.35
YouTube Music: 4.18.50
Vanced MicroG: 0.2.18.210390

To downgrade:
- Open Vance Manager then uninstall the latest version
- Click on the vertical ... on the top right corner then select Settings then Clear downloaded files
- Go back to the main menu then install YT Vanced again. Choose 15.43.32. If you want to use 16.02.35, you must first install version 15.43, access to your Google account on this one, and then update to version 16.02.

Update: version 16.14.34 with Vanced microG 0.22.212658 works too.

Hi.

I had this happen a while back.
I do not remember the version or device.

I had to (under Settings, Vanced settings):
- Toggle ad blocking off and restart YT Music.
- Toggle ad blocking on and restart YT Music.
I might have rebooted in between??

Give it a try and see if it fixes it for you.

Are you 100% sure it has not been overwritten by google s version?

I've used Vanced for ages and haven't had any of the problems others have. The Manager app also makes things easier.

One request, though, is it possible to get rid of the toggle which hides the versions in the Manager app? I don't see the logic of hiding the versions.

Bugs I found so far:
1. Swipe down to refresh sometimes didn't work (uncommon).
2. My last watch progress aren't saved when I reopen Vanced >> Library >> History. (quite often)
3. CPU resources randomly increases out of nowhere (fairly often).

*Edit: I think I just figured it out what causing CPU resources suddenly increases. It happens every time I'm using slider (seek bar, progress bar, or whatever it is) to jump forward/backward through a video. My device becoming hot too. Is this possible to resolve?

4. Media control playback never shows up on notification panel unless I open in-app setting window and it suddenly pop up. (*Edit: Fixed)

Overall Vanced is a life saver
