The version from this post seems to work as well on the latest LineageOS. The "Config camera HDR+" setting should be "Nexus6 (Max = High)".

Does this camera have slow motion? I have been trying to find a camera that offers slow motion for the Nextbit Robin. So far I've been unsuccessful. Currently I am stock, but would be open to flashing something like RR or Lineage if its stable and I dont lose any functionality...i.e.. fingerprint reader and everything else works.

I haven't yet seen a version with working slow motion on the Robin. 60fps works, though.

The settings I'm currently using are:
Code:
Model: Nexus 6P
Config camera HDR+: Nexus 6 Hdr+ Auto
HDR+ parameters: High

As I understand it, the "Model" selection tweaks certain algorithms that affect the final image, though I haven't seen any definitive explanation for that.

When installing updates to this app, it's often necessary to clear all data for it, or else it may crash.

EDIT: Oh yeah, running latest LOS.

The latest 5.1.016-based mod from B-S-G seems to work as well, using the "Nexus 6 Hdr+ Auto" setting. Unfortunately, I've had no luck getting any of the 5.1.018 versions working.
Settings I was using
Mode : Pixel XL(corr)
HDR+ : Nexus 6 Hdr+ Auto
ROM : OmniROM

This was working fine for about 10-20 photos in 2-3 days. Until one day(yesterday) suddenly while taking a photo it crashed the app after clicking the image (image wasn't saved). And it kept doing it even after relaunching the app. Odd thing was the same thing kept happening on all camera apps. A reboot fixed it for other camera apps but didn't fix it for this app.

After the above happened I cleared the settings before uninstalling and reinstalled this app and used the settings you suggested. Now it doesn't crash but it won't finish the Processing HDR+ thing and never save the image :(

I have tried changing to various models. I guess I will have to try a few different versions with different settings.
Any suggestion as to how to make the process of finding the right setting & version by trying various versions quick and less time consuming?

Interesting. The crash you described sounds like a hardware or firmware issue. I've not used OmniROM, so I'm not sure what camera APIs they've implemented. I know that there was a period of time when LineageOS had a lot of camera API work done, so that may have affected overall app compatibility. Also, while I hate to suggest this, you might consider doing a factory reset via TWRP, because it sounds like something might have gotten into a bad state since reboots aren't helping.

The best way I've found to play around with the settings isn't particularly great. I pin the app to my home screen for easy access, and do the following:

  1. Launch the Camera app, test it out
  2. Make settings changes
  3. Go back to the main camera screen
  4. Kill the app by hitting the Overview (square) button and swiping it away
  5. Go to step 1
Hope this helps!

I am not sure if its a firmware issue or not because after the reboot other camera apps work properly.

Ha! I guess there is no other good way to test it out.
btw were you able to get burst mode working? I never was able to get it working even when it was working.

Nexus 6p would probably be a better choice for the config, it has a 64 bit snapdragon 810. Seems to capture faster than selecting the pixel 2 or nexus 6.

Although I took a comparison HDR shot between open camera (on camera2 API) and this modded camera, open camera had better HDR post processing and didnt take as long to apply the changes. Ill probably keep this modded camera for the panorama though.

After trying many versions from the main thread in op3 forum, I found a version that works best for the nextbit robin. Considering it's running on an 808, decent performance with HDR+ even in low light.

Credits to B-S-G at 4PDA for the mod.

This thread needs more activity and update since there are Oreo ROMs now and a lot many updates to Google Camera Port

    ROM : Omni 8.1.0
Google Camera Port Version : GoogleCamera-Pixel2Mod-Arnova8G2-V7beta-test-9
    XDA Link for download.

If you want to play around with settings here are some recommended settings for this version. These are just for reference obviously as those settings are for 3/3T. You can use it as a reference to try various things if you want.

But since this is 'no config required' version, you don't have to do anything to keep it working fine.
Honestly I have only played with HDR+ settings and kept everything else default. Most other versions either crash as soon as I open settings or doesn't work (black screen).
This is the only version that is running without any issues and its been okay for now. I haven't had much time to take many pictures with this version and compare with other camera apps I use to check for the improved quality by this app but I soon will.
If you had success with any other version better than this do recommend it with the settings that worked for you.
